In their continuing attempt to dilute the impact of the Obama Administration failure on Benghazi, the New York Times acknowledges information which should be been told to the American people when President Obama sent United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice before the American people with a bald-faced lie.
What they want to cover-up …
- The facility was not a consulate as described by the administration, but was a CIA facility engaged in gun-running to jihadists using Turkey as a cut-out middleman.
- The facility had been attacked on two prior occasions with little or no response to the attacks.
- Personnel and the U.S. Ambassador requested additional security which appears to have been denied.
- The Obama foreign policy of Libyan normalization was a failure, with al Qaeda-like jihadists flooding into the region; forcing the British and Red Cross to leave due to the danger.
- The CIA and the State Department overlooked the dangers of a 9/11 anniversary strike on the facility.
- The U.S. Ambassador met with the Turkish Ambassador to discuss secret negotiations before the attack.
- There was no protest at the facility as widely described by President Clinton, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and CIA Director Petraeus.
- Why it was necessary to lie to the American people for weeks – touting a nonsensical story which was obviously a lie.
- The potential role of Iran or Russian in the attack since the arms were said to be destined for Syrian contras where both Iran and Russia have state interests.
Now the voice of the liberal press and Obama’s preferred propaganda source, the New York Times is reporting …
U.S.-Approved Arms for Libya Rebels Fell Into Jihadis’ Hands
The Obama administration secretly gave its blessing to arms shipments to Libyan rebels from Qatar last year, but American officials later grew alarmed as evidence grew that Qatar was turning some of the weapons over to Islamic militants, according to United States officials and foreign diplomats.
No evidence has emerged linking the weapons provided by the Qataris during the uprising against Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi to the attack that killed four Americans at the United States diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in September.
No evidence … because nobody looked closely at the facility or the perpetrators by design. Journalists discovered sensitive documents weeks after the attack, including the Ambassador’s diary. The FBI was late to the scene, spent and few hours and didn’t even bother to question eye witnesses. One person on-scene was found in another country and Obama, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder and the Head of the FBI did nothing to secure eye-witness testimony. Access to this individual was granted only after Republican Senator Lindsey Graham asked for permission to question the witness.
And the idea that the Obama Administration gets a pass because interdicted arms were not used in the attack is classic misdirection.
Obama was afraid that the Administration gun-running to Jihadists in Libya could be unfavorably compared to the Administration gun-running to drug cartels in Mexico during the upcoming presidential election cycle. It must be noted that Obama, Clinton and Holder continue to stonewall the Fast and Furious investigation as well as the Benghazi affair.
But in the months before, the Obama administration clearly was worried about the consequences of its hidden hand in helping arm Libyan militants, concerns that have not previously been reported. The weapons and money from Qatar strengthened militant groups in Libya, allowing them to become a destabilizing force since the fall of the Qaddafi government. The experience in Libya has taken on new urgency as the administration considers whether to play a direct role in arming rebels in Syria, where weapons are flowing in from Qatar and other countries.
Many believe that these arms were destined for Syria through Turkish routes and this was one of the proximate causes of the deception perpetrated on the American public. And that introducing Libyan militants is gross misdirection away from the truth.
The Obama administration did not initially raise objections when Qatar began shipping arms to opposition groups in Syria, even if it did not offer encouragement, according to current and former administration officials. But they said the United States has growing concerns that, just as in Libya, the Qataris are equipping some of the wrong militants.
Now the story is conflated by mentioning Syria, providing a cover story for these arms arriving in the hands of Syrian militants. Why no mention of the Turks?

The Obama Administration continues to lie to the American people. About Benghazi. About Fast and Furious. About why Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is nowhere to be found when clarification is required. And why Susan Rice, who knowingly lied to the American people on behalf of the Obama White House deserves to be nominated as the Secretary of State for her perfidy.
