The Obama Administration cannot be trusted with the safety and security of the United States and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice is unfit to become the next Secretary of State.

It was long suspected by many policy wonks that when Bill Clinton turned down Sudan’s offer to hand over Osama bin Laden, he set in motion the furtherance of worldwide Islamic Jihad, surely a move that should be regarded as being similar to former President Jimmy Carter who enabled the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran, by crippling the then Shah of Iran.

Susan Rice’s interference in the bin Laden matter …

"In 1996, while serving as assistant secretary of state for African affairs under former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Rice helped persuade President Clinton to rebuff Sudan's offer to turn Osama bin Laden, who was then living there, over to U.S. authorities."

Richard Miniter, author of the book "Losing bin Laden," told World Magazine in 2003 that Rice played a primary role in scuttling the deal in which Sudan could have turned over bin Laden to the U.S.

Carney co-authored a Washington Post op-ed with former Bill Clinton diplomatic troubleshooter Mansoor Ijaz in 2002 in which they detailed how Rice had frustrated attempts to get bin Laden even as Sudan had agreed to cooperate in 1997 to aid in rooting out terrorists without the U.S. dropping sanctions against it.

In the op-ed, Carney and Ijaz wrote that Rice and Richard Clarke persuaded Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger to overrule Albright on the Sudanese terrorism overtures to turn Osama bin Laden over to us.

When Sudan tried again to share intelligence on bin Laden, and sent a February 1998 letter addressed directly to Middle East and North Africa special agent-in-charge David Williams, "the White House and Susan Rice objected. On June 24, 1998, Williams wrote to Gutbi al-Mahdi, head of Sudan's intelligence agency, saying he was 'not in a position to accept your kind offer.'"

And for those who did not think the offer was legitimate …

During a February 2002 speech, Clinton explained that he turned down an offer from Sudan for bin Laden's extradition to the U.S., saying, "At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him."

But that wasn't exactly true. By 1996, the 9/11 mastermind had already been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing by prosecutors in New York.

Oh, and there is the matter of allowing genocide in Rwanda …

Rice was also influential in the Clinton Administration's remaining uninvolved in the Rwandan genocide that took place in that nation in 1994. In an article in the Atlantic (September 2001) by Samantha Power titled "Bystanders to Genocide," Rice is quoted as saying : "If we use the word 'genocide' and are seen as doing nothing, what will be the effect on the November congressional election?" <Source>

Bottom line …

Clearly U.N. Ambassador is politically motivated and based on her past actions unfit to become the Secretary of State. Rice’s viewpoint, reportedly contained in a 2005 article, appears to be terrorism is a threat borne of both oppression and deprivation and not malice towards the United States. Congruent with Obama’s belief and consistent with the talking points handed out to the mainstream media when the Administration defends Islam as a religion. On that basis, we cannot trust her judgement with the lives of Americans.

"We are not at war against Islam. We are at war against terrorist organizations that have distorted Islam or falsely used the banner of Islam," Obama said. "If we're going to deal with the problems Ed Henry was talking about - reducing the terrorist threat - we need all the allies we can get." Obama pressed that in fact, the anti-Islam sentiment and a war between the West and Islam is exactly what terrorist organizations are hoping for. "Al Qaeda, that's what they've been banking on," Obama said. "The overwhelming majority of Muslims are peace-loving - are interested in the same things that you and I are interested in." About the only thing that the Obama Administration democrats agree on is that the terrorists are victims and have legitimate grievances. All stating the Susan Rice approach to foreign policy.

What could be worse than the continued Obama Presidency?  Consider Susan Rice as Secretary of State and John Kerry as the Secretary of Defense. Two liberal-Marxists who appear to think of the United States as an unexceptional nation that should simply join with other nations and be responsible to an international authority.

That is not the America I know and love. Demand that your Senator refuse to allow Susan Rice to become the next Secretary of State.
