Bob Beckel, American Apologist for Liberalism
I recently received an e-mail from Colonel Dick Brauer, USAF (RET) which contained a quote from Bob Beckel …
"To suggest that the President of the United States would leak intelligence information, jeopardizing people in the field is close to treason. If I were them – I assume they are out of the military now – they ought to take their benefits and go home.” – Fox News’ Bob Beckel
And I do not quite know how to process Beckel’s statement.
Is Bob Beckel suggesting that those who speak out against the leaks that apparently are coming from someone in the White House or connected to the campaign of Barack Obama should be denied their First Amendment rights to political free speech by the government or severely punished for their comments?
Is Bob Beckel suggesting that the White House is not capable of staging a “Bin Laden” event that presented the public with a photograph which compromised an intelligence operative who was later identified in the media by his comparative height and a distinctive tie?

Is Bob Beckel suggesting that the White House is not capable of providing unprecedented access to our special operators and operations to “committed leftist” filmmakers for the purpose of glorifying the White House’s role in the Bin Laden affair?
Bin Laden Filmmakers Got "Unprecedented Access" to National Security Officials
Top Obama administration officials provided details about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden to filmmakers working on a movie about the operation even as the White House was trying to keep those same details out of the media, Bloomberg reports: The Obama administration promised a Hollywood filmmaker unprecedented access to the top-secret Navy unit that killed Osama bin Laden to help her make a feature film on the operation at the same time it was publicly ordering officials to stop talking about the raid. <Source>
Is Bob Beckel suggesting that the White House is not capable of speaking about the sources and methods of intelligence and “black ops” missions which resulted in the torture and imprisonment of a doctor who participated in confirming the existence of Bin Laden in Pakistan?
White House accused of 'outing' Pakistani doctor who led U.S. to Bin Laden's hideout as he is jailed for 33 YEARS for treason 'as punishment for humiliating his country'
Dr Shakil Afridi led Navy SEALS to bin Laden by setting up fake vaccination programme that allowed him to take DNA samples from terrorist's children Western officials say sentencing in Islamabad is punishment for humiliating Pakistan, who claims to not know Al Qaeda boss was living in Abottabad. Rep. Peter King says that Obama administration identified the doctor to Pakistani government officials, prompting his 33-year treason sentence. <Source>
Is Bob Beckel suggesting that the White House is not capable of speaking about the sources and methods of intelligence that resulted in an operative being compromised?
At about 5:45 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 7, just before the evening newscasts, John Brennan, President Barack Obama's top White House adviser on counter-terrorism, held a small, private teleconference to brief former counter-terrorism advisers who have become frequent commentators on TV news shows. According to five people familiar with the call, Brennan stressed that the plot was never a threat to the U.S. public or air safety because Washington had "inside control" over it.
Brennan's comment appears unintentionally to have helped lead to disclosure of the secret at the heart of a joint U.S.-British-Saudi undercover counter-terrorism operation. A few hours later, Clarke, who is a regular consultant to the network, concluded on ABC's Nightline that there was a Western spy or double-agent in on the plot: "The U.S. government is saying it never came close because they had insider information, insider control, which implies that they had somebody on the inside who wasn't going to let it happen." <Source>
Is Bob Beckel suggesting that the White House is not capable of speaking about our cyberwarfare capabilities and identifying the U.S. and Israel as the possible originators of a cyberattack on Iran?
White House directive behind Stuxnet virus
A series of cyberattacks on Iranian nuclear efforts came from a White House directive. The New York Times reports the efforts, code-named "Olympic Games," began during the Bush administration and one of the strings of code accidentally became publically known as Stuxnet. Israel was also a partner in the offensive, which is the first known series of cyberattacks the U.S. has been behind. <Source>
Mr. Obama, according to participants in the many Situation Room meetings on Olympic Games, was acutely aware that with every attack he was pushing the United States into new territory, much as his predecessors had with the first use of atomic weapons in the 1940s, of intercontinental missiles in the 1950s and of drones in the past decade. He repeatedly expressed concerns that any American acknowledgment that it was using cyberweapons — even under the most careful and limited circumstances — could enable other countries, terrorists or hackers to justify their own attacks. “We discussed the irony, more than once,” one of his aides said. Another said that the administration was resistant to developing a “grand theory for a weapon whose possibilities they were still discovering.” Yet Mr. Obama concluded that when it came to stopping Iran, the United States had no other choice. <Source>
Bottom line …
Either Bob Beckel is a stupid and naive “useful idiot” or he is a point man for the corrupt liberalism that wants to destroy America as we know it. There can be no other explanations. And if Bob Beckel wants to explore “treason,” I suggest he look at the President and his fellow travelers who apparently continue to leak intelligence secrets for their greater political glory – or even worse, to provide aid and comfort to our enemies.
I never thought I would see the day when an American President not only welcomed avowed communists and socialists into the White House, but allowed them to lead important government initiatives. Who knows how many secrets these moles will disclose over the coming years?
While Beckel is treated rather friendly by conservatives like Sean Hannity, might I suggest that he is the quintessential example of a “useful idiot.” A democrat through and through – although his brand of democrat died somewhere between 1950 and the hippie revolution in 1960.
