Fact check …

It didn’t seem to bother the perpetrator of the Colorado “Movie Massacre” that he may have broken any federal, state or local gun laws. So why would a rational person believe that imposing additional laws or banning firearms would have any effect on sociopaths – be they thugs, professional criminals or the mentally ill? The sad truth is that one can fashion weapons of mass destruction with impunity. Are we to ban guns, then gasoline, then fertilizer and other chemicals?

1. "Dangerous weapon" includes firearm
2. Revocation of license for furnishing a firearm to a minor or someone under the influence.
3. Window displays cannot include firearms with barrels less than 12 inches long.
4. Unlawful to carry concealed "dangerous weapon"
5. Unlawful to discharge firearms, unless by law enforcement on duty or on shooting range.
6. Unlawful to possess firearm while under the influence of intoxicant
7. Unlawful to have loaded firearm in motor vehicle.
8. Unlawful for a juvenile to possess a firearm.

Additional state and federal laws include murder, mayhem, use of explosives, incendiary materials and chemical agents. 

The suspect not only used firearms in the commission of this horrible crime, he also used some form of smoke or tear gas as well as booby-trapping his home with explosive, incendiary and chemical devices. A person this far gone is not going to respect ANY law and will be smart enough to obtain weapons of mass destruction in numerous other ways if firearms are banned. Even registering and tracking the weapons would have done NOTHING. Because the sad and sorry truth is that you cannot protect yourself from mentally unstable people.

The problem is not guns, it is liberals …

At what point do the uber-liberal politicians recognize that larger and more restrictive government is not the answer. I know that liberals like to award meaningless style points for those who just show up, but when are they going to stop rewarding children who get the wrong answer and start teaching personal responsibility and the consequences of one’s actions?

The liberals have bred a nation of ill-mannered, self-centered pussies who believe that it is the function of government to provide them with a comfortable existence. The type of people who would rather put their children on ADD or ADHD medication than deal with the problem physically on a one-to-one basis. And then they wring their hands when someone doen't take their meds and commits an attrocity. They have plenty of time to go to their political events, but little time for their own children.

Consider how many unionized, radical feminists have taught a generation of little boys to act more like little girls? Men are a declining presence in education -- fearful that an innocent or casual touching of a child could bankrupt them and land them in jail.  

We can’t play tag, dodge-ball or engage in any form of self-defense on the playground. No, we must turn to some arbitrary authority to redress our grievances.

“Teacher, Tommy is bullying me” results in Tommy being thrown out of school at great expense and inconvenience to his parents; and it certainly doesn't make the victim feel any better. In my day, Tommy would have gotten a quick knuckle sandwich and we would be best friends by the end of the week. If I screwed up I could count on Coach Baker or Vice-Principle Hammerle to paddle my ass with a ping-pong paddle or tennis shoe. Swats were a consequence of screwing up. If they did that now, they would be in prison and lost their house to their attorney in the process.

Consider the fact that battered women's shelters, mostly run by liberals, routinely refuse to inform women of their right to self-defense using a weapon. Women continue to die because they are attacked by crazed people bent on doing them harm -- and remain powerless. Court-issued retraining orders are worthless if the agressor simply ignores the law and the restraining order; which is what happens in the most egregious and deadly cases.

And consider that many liberals who openly condone minority single-parent families with multiple children from multiple fathers. Because it would be racist to point out that this promiscuous behavior should be unacceptable behavior in society. But, then again, they believe that the state should play an important part of a child's upbringing. 

Why do liberals continue to create "gun-free zones" which are, in reality, kill zones?  And all it takes is one person to disregard the law to create a tragedy.  

As for self-defense …

If only one person were armed, it is possible that this terrible matter could have concluded with far less loss of life and injury. That is, if anyone had the guts to stand up. The mindset should be "I don't care about the shooter's motives, I care about living and will do anything necessary to survive."

Here is someone who used to live in Colorado and certainly would have ended the craziness ...
