How many people realize that the oral arguments on ObamaCare is really an argument highlighting the slippery slope to government totalitarianism?

Today in the Supreme Court we heard the government’s argument which is basically that everyone’s health impacts the delivery of healthcare to everyone else; and thus needs to be regulated by the government.

In Washington State we pretty much heard the same argument that the government can control how an individual can use rainwater which falls upon his property because it impacts other people if this water does not flow to the aquifer for the benefit of the greater community.

Both arguments claiming that somehow there is a greater good that should grant the government the right to regulate a citizens affairs for the collective community.

Where have we heard that before?

From Karl Marx whose name is synonymous with Marxism which is the most popular form of Communism in today’s world …

“In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life's prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly—only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be crossed in its entirety and society inscribe on its banners: From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!

All against the pretext that most individuals are rather unremarkable and replaceable units which have to be managed for the greater good by an enlightened ruling elite.

Of course, history has demonstrated that the quote “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely” is a true statement. Something that can be found in today’s political structure where a political class has elected themselves as lords of the manor and rule, rather than govern, over their subjects – statutorily and practically immune from the consequences of their actions. Bringing about a class of unelected and faceless bureaucrats to do their bidding without fear of consequences and an entitlement society which keeps returning corrupt miscreants to power again and again – each time with the corrupt redistributing the wealth of the productive to the non-productive according to Marx’s dictum: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

What the hell is really going on?

First of all, we should recognize that ObamaCare is not about regulating healthcare directly. In fact, it is not about healthcare at all.

It is about regulating the insurance companies who pay for healthcare and act as the gatekeepers to the healthcare system.

Second, the government is attempting to justify its actions by using the Constitution’s Commerce Clause which was designed to regulate and standardize the commerce between states in such a manner as to insure fair weights and measures, restricting self-serving tariffs and generally promote trade between the states in a fair and open manner.

The government refuses to address the paradox that insurance companies are controlled by the individual states in which they do business and are generally prohibited from offering their products across state lines and on a nationwide basis. Something that would promote competition and drive costs lower.

Third, implementing bureaucratic and government-directed controls on the insurance companies, means that such companies would become instrumentalities of the government in the provision of healthcare to individuals.

In this instance, those that control the purse strings to pay for critically-needed healthcare, literally have the power of life and death over individuals.

Already we see certain progressive media sources asking whether or not it is ethical and cost effective to provide a heart transplant to a 71-year-old man. In this case a conservative Republican, former Vice President Dick Cheney. An issue that would have never been raised if the recipient would have been the progressive’s philandering Democrat darling, former President Bill Clinton.

When Sarah Palin spoke of “death panels” she was was roundly criticized for hyperbole; even though she was dead-on accurate. Healthcare delivered according to the “norms” and statistical outcomes as determined by bureaucrats. Sorry buddy, but we just won’t pay for that drug to save your rather unremarkable, unproductive child. Your are number 123 on the waiting list for that liver. Behind illegal aliens and other foreigners because we want to be blind to race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and national origin.

Corruption to the max …

To think that wealthy, well-connected individuals would not receive special treatment is to live in fantasy land. These are the people who can easily game the system by registering for a transplant in numerous states and keeping a private jet on standby to deliver them to the source of live-giving healthcare. Think it can’t be done – think again of Steve Jobs, the President of Apple Computer who took that very course of action.

Think the government is immune from cheating? Consider a certain doctor at UCLA who was told by the government that a foreign criminal was to provide “critical” information in return for a liver transplant. It did not hurt that the criminal donated at least a million dollars to the University’s program – and we have no idea what he may have done for the doctor who did the transplant. So ask yourself, where is the ethics in bumping a lesser personage for a criminal – and a foreign one at that?

We need to reform healthcare …

There is no doubt in my mind that we need to reform both the access to healthcare and the way medicine is actually practiced. But to allow the government to co-opt the healthcare payment system to exert greater control over the population and to decide who lives and dies is not only immoral, unethical, corrupt – but it violates the very principles of our land – equal treatment under the law.

Bottom line …

So when you listen to the questions being asked by the Supreme Court Justices of the government’s lawyer, consider what they are really discussing.

Should this decision weaken our Constitutional freedoms and provide the federal and state governments with even more power, there is a very real possibility that this act will signal the beginning of the end of freedom, justice and the American way of life.

And with the increased threat of tyranny, comes the very real threat of an armed insurrection of the people who wish to return our nation to its Constitutional roots.

I am hoping that people will see corrupt democrats, republicans, progressives, liberals, Marxists and Communists for what they really are: a clear and present danger to our very lives and those of our children.

We cannot allow corrupt politicians to gain even more power – not by self-serving legislation that cedes control over our economy, foreign affairs and very lives or by passing a greater number of laws, rules and regulations that makes every man, woman and child an unknowing criminal; to be selectively prosecuted for having violated some arcane statute buried among hundreds of thousands of pages of dusty law books.

We must disabuse our neighbor for voting for people who are attempting to purchase our vote with our own confiscatory-level taxes; promising even greater entitlements to those who vote and who want to take from the rich and divide it among the poor until each and every person is disadvantaged to the extent of requiring government approval and assistance to live their lives

Beware, the time is now and the beast is at the door.
