GOVERNMENT LOONIES PREDICT 2025 CAR SALES FOR MODELS WHICH DO NOT EXIST ...
Have you ever wondered why the federal government is a safe well-paid haven for incompetent bureaucrats, political appointees with an agenda and academics without common sense, here is an illustration of their nuttiness.
Imagine making public policies by using “precise” 2025 sales estimates for cars which do not even exist – and reporting the non-existent car projects to a single unit instead of a range of values. And if that were not so strange, then comparing the percentage increase/decrease with the 2008 model year which is long past.
Under the auspices of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA, we find a news release headlined …
“We Can't Wait: Obama Administration Proposes Historic Fuel Economy Standards to Reduce Dependence on Oil, Save Consumers Money at the Pump”
“Building on President Obama's historic national program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today formally unveiled their joint proposal to set stronger fuel economy and greenhouse gas pollution standards for Model Year 2017-2025 passenger cars and light trucks. Cars, SUVs, minivans, and pickup trucks are currently responsible for nearly 60 percent of U.S. transportation-related petroleum use and greenhouse gas emissions.”
You will note that the government has officially decided that “greenhouse gas” emissions – specifically carbon dioxide – are harming the planet and that this specific finding mandates the government’s interference in all aspects of energy prospecting, production, delivery and usage. Even though carbon dioxide is a gas necessary to sustain life on Earth and that rising atmospheric concentrations of this gas have a beneficial effect on the planet’s ecosystem. Not to mention that there is no evidence of any linkage between carbon dioxide and global climate phenomena that exist only in the silicon minds of computers programmed by activists and others with an agenda.
“Today's announcement is the latest in a series of executive actions the Obama Administration is taking to strengthen the economy and move the country forward because we can't wait for Congressional Republicans to act. When combined with other historic steps this administration has taken to increase energy efficiency, this proposal will save Americans over $1.7 trillion at the pump, more than $8,000 per vehicle by 2025. These combined actions also will reduce America's dependence on oil by an estimated 12 billion barrels, and, by 2025, reduce oil consumption by 2.2 million barrels per day – enough to offset almost a quarter of the current level of our foreign oil imports. Taken together, these actions will also slash 6 billion metric tons in greenhouse gas emissions over the life of the programs.”
What?
The NHTSA is an agency of the Executive Branch of the U.S. government, part of the Department of Transportation with a self-described mission of “Saving lives, preventing injuries and reducing vehicle-related crashes.” Where do they have a mandate to politicize any issue and characterize Congressional Republicans as laggards or obstructionists who are unwilling to rubber stamp their wacky agenda based on nothing more than computer projections – with the same type of flawed assumptions, programming and data that appears to be used by those who use pseudo-science to support their public policy agenda?
Can YOU believe these government numbers?
That the government pointy heads can know that Ferrari’s production will balloon to 7,658 vehicles, not 7,657 or 7,659; but 7,657 vehicles in 2025 based on models not yet in existence.
But an even better question is how Ferrari is going to make their high-performance cars into fuel-sipping “green vehicles” – even though most of the population can’t even afford the annual maintenance on such vehicles. Or they going the cigarette route – including a tremendous “we know how you should live your life” tax in the purchase price?
Or maybe we should ask the most important question, will Ferrari simply stop exporting cars into the United States?

Why these numbers are scary?
Using the government’s numbers, unreliable as they may be, it is very, very scary to note that while Toyota’s growth is approximately 67.3%, union-dominated Government Motors (GM) growth only appears to be an estimated 5.4%; and traditional rival Ford shoots up 61%.
And it should not escape anyone’s attention that the government-subsidized Tesla Motors shoots up astronomically to 3997% – a great deal for the crony capitalist investors who benefit from those low-cost loans. Where can the taxpayers get that type of return on their investments.
It looks like the United States car industry is being screwed; if not by the outrageous union demands and previous pension programs, then by the government’s over-regulation of non-existent problems.
Bottom line …
The government is continuing to use faux science and manufactured numbers to drive public policies which support their toxic Marxist political agenda.
It is now time to eliminate the progressive democrat/Marxists from our government lest we find ourselves an unexceptional nation with a European-style socialist democratic government; complete with an entrenched and unionized bureaucratic class taking orders from the “enlightened” elite.
I am not trying to tell you who to vote for, but that you need to vote for a constitutional conservative (not a phony like Ron Paul) but someone who can help repeal these crazy regulations, eliminate the waste, fraud and corruption that is the government and return America to a new glory as the leader of the free world.
Just look at the crap the government puts out and demands we follow. Right down the yellow brick road to socialism.
