May 19, 2009: ANOTHER DAY OF INFAMY
Even though the normal Constitutional checks and balances of government have been subverted; the executive branch and the legislative branch of government (being controlled by a single party), both democrat institutions are afraid to put global warming to a vote.
It is anticipated that President Barack Obama will attempt to bypass the voters and the legislature by implementing global warming programs by executive fiat using executive orders and agency directives.
What you need to know:
In spite of the claims to the contrary, the science of global climate change is not at a stage where the output of computer models can be accepted as fact – and used as the basis for public policies which serve to enlarge government, massively raise taxes and curtail our individual freedoms.
There is no proof that CO2 is responsible for global warming and should be regarded not a pollutant, but a necessity of life whose increasing values can be most beneficial to our ecosystem.
That this evil confluence of events is being spearheaded by corrupt and complacent politicians who are influenced by the massive contributions to their personal, professional and political benefit. Paid by lobbyists acting on behalf of the special interests who will financially benefit from global warming initiatives. Supported by those who do not wish America well and want to seek greater political power. And propagandized by a complicit democrat-oriented media which seemingly has abandoned their journalistic efforts and taken sides with those who lie for a living.
And for those who claim to want energy independence and clean energy, ask why they are not promoting nuclear power and making it a national initiative. Beneficial for our economy and as further insulation from foreign sovereigns who wish America harm.
Schwarzenegger sold out California, and now seeks to duplicate that dubious success by assisting the democrats in selling out America …
It is likely that President Obama is going to announce new automobile mileage standards which will result in underpowered and unsafe vehicles co-existing on the same roads with heavy trucks, SUVs and, of course, Hummers. It is likely that President Obama will be flanked by a smiling Republican turncoat, Arnold Schwarzenegger who has proposed California’s onerous emissions standards as the EPA’s national model.
Consider what has happened to California in the past six years of Schwarzenegger’s so-called leadership.
Democrat spending remains unchecked with much of the money going to unionized institutions, expanded social welfare programs that support illegal aliens and, of course, the special interests such as the Wall Street Wizards, developers, contractors and government vendors of all stripes. If anything was expanding in California, it was the public employee’s unions.
Termed-out politicians and the friends of politicians were all appointed to commissions or boards which paid six-figure salaries for as little as two work days per month – complete with commuting expenses, lodging and a per diem expense allowance for those who lived hundreds of miles from the State Capitol.
Financial chicanery was used to paper-over growing deficits to hide them from the public, until the billion-dollar deficits were so large as to defy all imagination. When this didn’t work, the legislature, with Schwarzenegger’s assistance, placed deceptive propositions on the May 19th ballot.
- Proposition 1A, a massive $16 BILLION + tax increase whose provisions extended California’s record tax rates for another two years –- while being touted as a limit on legislative spending. Whoops, forgot about the loophole which permits spending to rise in relationship to increasing tax revenues – not much of a spending cap.
- Propositions 1B which would raid California’s rainy day fund in favor of the teacher’s unions and as a thank you for the multi-millions spend on campaign contributions and media support in favor of these toxic propositions.
- Propositions 1C which would securitize – a Wall Street Word – the California’s lottery’s future revenue stream for an immediate payment of approximately $5 BILLION or more.
- Proposition 1D which would allow the State to raid the Children and Families health programs to help paper-over the deficit.
- Proposition 1E which would allow the State to raid mental health funding to add to the general fund kitty.
- Proposition 1F is a give-away to a Republican legislator whose Judas vote was needed to pass the most massive tax increase in California History and prepare the way for another state office. It apparently freezes legislators' salaries in years of fiscal emergency, but does little or nothing to curb the additional “per diem” expense money which is likely to be increased to compensate for static salaries.
Of course, the bottom line is a legislative lie perpetrated by the Governor and state legislators on both sides of the aisle – that this measure will solve the budget deficit problem. According to the non-partisan truth-tellers in the Legislative Analyst’s Office, the state would still need to raise up to $20 BILLION to really solve the deficit issue. An almost impossible task with an eroding tax base and both people and businesses leaving the state for more hospitable business climates.
On top of California’s craziness is a far-left/Marxist legislature populated by members who claim to be seeking social justice in the form of income redistribution and gay rights. With much of California under water, fiscally speaking, there corrupt and complacent politicians want to import additional poverty, illiteracy and disease from third-world nations, Mexico being the primary source of cheap labor – along with drugs and gangs.
California’s legislators have all but destroyed our Golden State with their nonsense – and what do we have to show for it except a show-boating governor who jets around playing movie star/legislator. All while California’s infrastructure is in desperate need of repair or replacement.
Extending this to the national scene …
There is no doubt in my mind that President Obama is a far better actor, with or without TelePrompTers, than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Both men desperately dangerous to push their own political ideology at the expense of the general public. Both men elected with adulation and accolades. And as Schwarzenegger is revealed to be a massive failure as a leader, so will President Obama in a very short period of time.
Unfortunately, I believe that those who are on the public payroll or on the public dole has reached a critical mass, as to perpetuate a far-left cadre of political elites who will do or say anything to remain in power. And with the abdication of the media; with their unwillingness to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, it seems that the public will be slow to anger as their pockets are plundered and rights eroded by those who care not a whit for America, but only for themselves, their relatives and their enablers – their special interest friends.
There is a solution …
We need to consider the three magic words: recall, revolt and repeal. We need to recall those legislators who have harmed our local, state and federal government. We need to revolt against the political parties, both of whom have sold us out for their thirty-pieces of silver. And we need to repeal the nonsensical and harmful legislation which have crippled this nature.
For those who speak in terms of trans-nationalism, let us first align ourselves with the majority of civilized countries and demand that any child born in our country assume the citizenship of their parents. And speaking of citizenship, cancel all dual citizen passports. If your allegiance is to another sovereign nation, by all means carry their passport and move over to your chosen garden spot in the world.
We need to downsize the government, starting with the Department of Homeland Defense which concentrates too much power in the hands of an appointed political hack without true experience in intelligence, defense or the management of large organizations. Unlike those who serve as chief executive officers of large companies with a bottom line responsibility of the profit and loss of the enterprises, serving as the governor of a border state does not mean you are a leader or a chief executive. The department is too large to manage effectively, with individual components working at cross-purposes and with massive failures in the areas of managing contracts and emergency responses. A department which seemingly responds to a disaster by asking about the political impact, how the story can be spun in the media -- all before providing any aid to the citizens in need.
Bottom line …
Schwarzenegger is continuing to screw the State of California and President Obama and his cadre of far-left democrats is busy applying the California model to the nation. We need to respond vigorously and massively in 2010 to remove all members of Congress who are up for re-election, in 2012 to remove the President of the United States and the remaining members of Congress who still have jobs and completing the task in 2014 when we should have a better chance of rebuilding America.
For those in California: VOTE NO ON PROPOSITIONS 1A-1F
For the rest of the citizens who are angry, tell your Congressman to vote against any initiative which weakens our economy, our military and our society.
