We have long complained that the environmental movement has been infiltrated by socialists, communists, anarchists and others who do not wish the America well ...

These are the people who were trying to suppress the development of nuclear technology during the cold war, making the United States more vulnerable to foreign and hostile regimes by preventing the United States from achieving energy independence with environmental lawsuits, tried to prevent the NAVY from protecting the California Coastline with their claims that NAVY sonar was somehow damaging the whale population. These are the people who are using our own laws and freedoms against us as they attempt to weaken our military and destabilize our economy. These are the people who have learned to manipulate the media to drown out the concerns of others who have noticed the historical pattern of infiltration. These are the people who have infiltrated our schools to promote their revisionist history, multiculturalism and diversity to the detriment of our children being able to learn the basics: reading, writing, arithmetic, history and above all, critical thinking. And, much as I am loathe to point the finger at democrats; these are the people who have infiltrated the ranks of those do-gooders and liberals who operate under the guide of the politically correct people for a perfect planet.

"Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change."

Covering their tracks, next: revisionist history?

"By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group's congress in Greece was still available."

They are not our friends ...

"Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world's social democratic political parties such as Britain's Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies."

Damaging the economy based on suspicious science...

"The group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, the organization's action arm on climate change, says the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions."

Why, to achieve parity with the citizens of Russia, China, Viet Nam and other garden spots of the world run by dictators? To reduce the freedom, liberty and the economic advantages which allow American citizens to challenge their own futures?

It's all for show ...

There was the promise of the most ethical Administration in history (à la Clinton) and the extensive questionnaire which sought to find things that would embarrass the President-elect or future administration. Perhaps they should have added the section which begins: Have you now or ever have belonged to a foreign-based or domestic organization that ... !

"Mr. Obama, who has said action on climate change would be a priority in his administration, tapped Mrs. Browner last month to fill a new position as White House coordinator of climate and energy policies. The appointment does not need Senate confirmation."

Obama has now explained away: Reverend Wright, Father Phleger, domestic terrorists William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, convicted political con man Tony Rezko, Rod Blagojevich ... and now Carol Browner!

"Mr. Obama's transition team said Mrs. Browner's membership in the organization is not a problem and that it brings experience in U.S. policymaking to her new role."

Yes, I will admit, it brings experience in manipulating United States policy on behalf of a ideology that is fundamentally anti-America.

"The Commission for a Sustainable World Society includes world leaders from a variety of political parties, including British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who succeeded Tony Blair, in serving as vice president of the convening organization," Obama transition spokesman Nick Shapiro said.

Further infiltration of every branch of the government?

" 'Carol Browner was chosen to help the president-elect coordinate energy and climate policy because she understands that our efforts to create jobs, achieve energy security and combat climate change demand integration among different agencies; cooperation between federal, state and local governments; and partnership with the private sector,' Mr. Shapiro said in an e-mail."

Credentials of the militant left? 

"Mrs. Browner ran the Environmental Protection Agency under President Clinton. Until she was tapped for the Obama administration, she was on the board of directors for the National Audubon Society, the League of Conservation Voters, the Center for American Progress and former Vice President Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection."

AL Gore, you mean the person who lacks the guts to formally debate those who disagree with his climate assertions? You mean Al Gore whose primary company is operated from its off-shore headquarters in England? That Al Gore?

"Her name has been removed from the Gore organization's Web site list of directors, and the Audubon Society issued a press release about her departure from that organization."

Even though the Senate democrats will control the confirmation process, does not mean that Browner should not thoroughly be quizzed and the democrats held accountable for her actions on their watch.

"Republicans said Mrs. Browner's work with Socialist International raises questions."

"Does she agree with the group's positions on global governance - that the United States should abdicate its international leadership to international organizations? Does she support its position that the international community should be the ultimate arbiter of climate change policy?" said Antonia Ferrier, a spokeswoman for House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican."

"'These are questions that merit answers - especially when you consider this group's deep skepticism about America's ability to be a force for positive change in the world,' she said."

Why should Obama care about socialists when he an open 20+ year association with his socialist, anti-American mentor, Reverend Wright, and at the very least, a working relationship with the domestic terrorists Ayers and Dohrn?

"An aide on the Obama team said its information shows that Mrs. Browner resigned from the organization in June 2008. The aide, who asked not to be named because he was discussing internal matters, said the transition team was aware she had been a member of the group when she was vetted."

"The Socialist International Web site didn't have a copy of her June 30 speech, but the agenda for the meeting had her scheduled to speak as part of a panel on "How do we strengthen the multilateral architecture for a sustainable future?"

Multilateral, as in ceding a portion of the control over the United States economy, and by extension the military, to foreign commissions and panels?

"Other panel participants were Sergey Mironov, speaker of the Russian legislature's upper chamber and a close ally of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin; Zhang Zhijun, vice minister of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee; and Jesus Caldera, a former Minister of Employment and Social Affairs of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party."

I am not smart enough to understand the term "democratic socialist movement" since many of their members seem to be operating under the aegis of totalitarian regimes.

"Socialist International bills itself as the world body of democratic socialist movements. It includes members ranging from Israel's Labor Party and France's Socialist Party to Angola's MPLA, which won the 1970s Angolan civil war with the aid of Soviet arms and Cuban troops."

Why be violent when you can achieve the same thing by using a democratic society's own rules and regulations to benefit your agenda? Subversion from within -- carried forth by "fellow travelers" was and remains a major tactic of those who want to destroy America.

"The organization distinguishes itself from violent or revolutionary communist parties. However, some such groups, including the Chinese Communist Party, have been invited to its events as guest organizations."

"The Democratic Socialists of America, not the Democratic Party, is listed as the group's U.S. representative. But Mrs. Browner was listed as an individual member of Socialist International, but not a member of the DSA."

Obama the tool?

"While agreeing with Mr. Obama on the need for action to address climate change, the organization wants more draconian policies than the president-elect's preferred solution."

It is always the salami technique: demand more than you expect and settle for an incremental slice that achieves your goal. Enough slices and you have consumed the entire salami.

"During the presidential campaign, Mr. Obama called for a cap-and-trade system to control carbon emissions. He argued that such a system is efficient and lets the free market determine where it's easiest to reduce greenhouse gas emissions."

This is the worst type of public policy -- curtailing American productivity and the economy by using suspicious science to convince those who are extremely gullible, apathetic or can profit from a self-interest agenda. 

"Socialist International says such 'flexible mechanisms' do not clamp down hard enough on polluters."

It it all based on what you define as a "pollutant." Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a naturally occurring gas that is beneficial to human life. In case these numb-nuts do not understand the science, here is a short summary. 

All research currently indicates that the rise in CO2 lags temperature by at least 600 years. The simple reason for this is that as oceans warm, more CO2 is emitted into the atmosphere. (Think how a soda produces more CO2 as it warms.) Since the amount of CO2 in the ocean and in the atmosphere is roughly constant, this forms a self-regulating feedback loop. CO2 will continue to rise for approximately 600 years; even as our global climate is cooling. To make public policy when the results will not be known for hundreds of years is foolish and borders on religious faith.

The organization often takes a decidedly critical view of the U.S.

The magic code words ...

At this summer's meeting, the group issued a statement on economics that blasted the 'neo-liberal market ideology and the unilateralist, U.S.-dominated approach in the global economic system,' and attacked the U.S. for dominating international financial institutions."

AHA! Global peace ...

"At its meeting earlier in 2008 in Santiago, Chile, Socialist International endorsed 'global governance' as the solution to the world's problems of peace and climate change."

Why are those nations who are seemingly for "global peace" ruled or dominated by despots who deny their people their "God-given" fundamental human rights?

"At a July meeting in St. Petersburg, the commission said developed countries 'should think of decreasing current consumption levels' - which would mean shrinking their economies - in order to help the environment."

Explain this ...

"Socialist International regularly blasts the construction of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border. The fence was approved by both houses of Congress, including with Mr. Obama's vote in the Senate."

The socialists want the United States to be weakened by the influx of those who are easily manipulated with the promises of citizenship and entitlements. These are the people who are further destroying our healthcare, educational, judicial, retirement, social and cultural infrastructure and pushing us further toward a third-world existence -- which benefits those who want to cripple the United States in order to gain a position of strength.

Obama: self-absorbed opportunist or fellow traveler? 

"Socialist International was congratulatory when Mr. Obama won the election, issuing a statement noting that 'the sky may seem a bit brighter today' but warning still that 'there are enormous global challenges that must be addressed effectively and without delay.'"

Say what you will about President Bush, there was no doubt in anybody's mind that he was a patriot and had the best interests of the United States uppermost in his mind.

However, when it comes to democrats who will apparently do or say anything to regain or maintain power, I am not so sure as witnessed by those who openly wished for a defeat of United States forces in Iraq for political purposes.
