Is John McCain afraid of confronting Barack Obama? (Updated)

According the the Associated Press ...

"Republican John McCain vowed Sunday to 'whip' Democratic rival Barack Obama's 'you-know-what' when the two presidential candidates meet Wednesday in their final televised debate. McCain made that pledge as top advisers said he is weighing new economic proposals to help the nation weather the financial crisis. The Arizona senator refused to answer a reporter's question Sunday about what plans he might be considering."

Original Blog Entry ...

We have seen how President Bush refused to confront the democrats and those who would continue to bash his Administration. An Administration preoccupied with secrecy and the plugging of leaks. An Administration who seemed afraid to air their plans and programs on the public stage.

Some say it is because President Bush is a gentlemen, brought up with elite Eastern establishment manners. Some say it is because President Bush is inarticulate and can’t possibly put a simple sentence together. Others simply claim that Vice President Dick Cheney was unavailable to tell President Bush what to say. And there are those that claim that the Administration’s policies and programs are simply indefensible.

McCain’s supporters want John McCain to attack Obama on his character, experience and shady associations …

His supporters want John McCain to go on the attack. To directly confront presidential Barack Obama on his apparent unfitness for office as well as the serious issues of the day.

His associations with:

  • Tony Rezko. a convicted thief who was associated with so-called affordable housing and inappropriately dealing in political influence.
  • William Ayers and Bernadine Dorn, unrepentant domestic terrorists who have subverted and radicalized a portion of Chicago’s school system
  • Reverend Wright, Phleger and Farrakahn, all known for their anti-American, racist anti-white and anti-Semitic rhetoric
  • Acorn, the community organization which push for the relaxation loan requirements and that stands accused of subverting this nation’s voting process in favor of Obama and the democrats.
  • The Annenberg Foundation which apparently funded Ayers’ programs to fund schools that featured political activism over mathematics and science.

His attempt to lie to the public in the Canadian incident where his people were meeting with Canadian politicians and telling them to disregard Obama’s rhetoric on NAFTA as being packaged only for American political consumption.

His attempt to subvert the Iraq war policies of the Administration by trying to have the Iraqi leadership delay actions which would be seen as being beneficial to the Administration’s current program.

His lack of experience as a manager or executive of any entity.

His lack of foreign affairs experience.

His inability to articulate his bigger government/more taxes program.

His association with the corrupt democrat machine in Chicago.

His association with the democrats who brought about the failure of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and its malignant spread to the larger financial community with the relaxation of lending standards and continuing calls for “affordable housing” – code words for giving loans to ethnic and racial minorities with little or no credit worthiness.

His claim to support bipartisanship, although he has never put forth bi-partisan legislation and rarely, if ever, voted outside party lines.

His claim to support tax cut plans although he has never voted for a tax cut.

His claim to have an economic policy which he refuses to release.

And, most of all, Barack Obama’s inability to pass a simple FBI or Secret Service hiring policy due to his associations with known domestic terrorists and his involvement with political corruption.

But now we see presidential candidate John McCain defending Barack Obama …

“He is a decent family man citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues and that’s what this campaign is all about.”

It seems that there is a major disconnect between the campaign who is mounting attack ads and the candidate who refuses to engage.

Are we pinning our hopes on another Bush…

Are we moving toward another “gentleman” who believes that “looking Presidential” trumps the dirty infighting in the political trenches.

What I want to hear from John McCain ...

  • What really happened?
  • Who was primarily responsible?
  • Will they be called to account?
  • What can we do to return to fiscal stability?
  • What is the status of our world-wide political situation?
  • With respect to the Middle East?
  • With respect to North Korea?
  • With respect to the European Union?
  • With respect to the United Nations?

And this is just the start.

What can YOU do?

Vote for the candidate that does not pose a clear and present danger to our nation with their Marxist policies of larger government, reduced freedoms and higher taxes. Of course, this means voting for John McCain no matter how he responds to the opposition candidate.

The truth is neither these candidates is the man with a plan. If there was a plan available, it would be implemented by our current Administration.

It is a sad day in American when the current government will not prosecute the rich, well-connected evildoers who clearly violated numerous financial laws, rules and regulations and both candidates and their vice presidential nominees are relatively worthless as true leaders with a bold plan to right the ship of state.
