Today, courtesy of the New York Post’s famous Page Six Gossip Feature, we get a free lesson on what liberals are really like.

There is no doubt that the unmarried couple, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins are truly representative of far-left progressive wealthy limousine liberals. Weighing in with their opinion on any number of matters affecting the poor, the downtrodden and the Marxists among us.

While there is no doubt that they are extremely talented as performers, there is also no doubt in my mind that they are truly, “do as I say, not as I do” leftists who do not mind spending other people’s money or dictating how others should live their lives.

Opposing a hospital in THEIR neighborhood…

As Page Six noted …

“TIM Robbins' and Susan Sarandon's mission to protect the poor and needy doesn't apply to their Greenwich Village neighborhood. The Oscar-winning liberals recently attended a Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing to oppose St. Vincent's plea to build a new, larger hospital on West 12th Street, three blocks from their home.”

“This despite their support of causes like UNICEF and Champions for Children.”

Those people out there …

"The hospital provides $40 million in care to the indigent every year," one proponent told us. "Robbins dismissed more than 100 people rallying in support of the hospital - low-income, union workers and veterans of the AIDS crisis - as 'those people out there.' "

I can easily remember when Sarandon and Robbins were at the head of the line – leading “those people out there.” Of course they did it with security intact and the knowledge that the media was instructed to “shoot their best side.”

Seeking alternatives to what already works …

Sarandon said in a statement: "Improving the hospital is a great idea. However, this can be accomplished without compromising the neighborhood. St. Vincent's should consider the proposed alternative solutions." Robbins declined to comment.

A classic case of NIMBYism …

Like Ted Kennedy and the proposed wind-turbines off Cape Code, the concept is fine, however it always comes down to the classic cry of the wealthy liberals: NIMBY -- Not In My Back Yard. Especially when the proposed development is a crucial part of the public infrastructure.

Perhaps Sarandon and Robbins would go along with the plan if the hospital were renamed. Something along the lines of: The Sarandon/Robbins Hospital for Indigent Marxists.

As with drilling for oil or nuclear energy, liberals look at what currently works and claims that there are other, better alternatives although they may not be practical or economical without heavy government subsidies and the creation of new control bureaucracies.

In many cases, the progressives point to a problem and claim that there is a lack of leadership needed to find a solution – all the while believing in the BANANA theory. Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Nor Anytime.

Celebrities are not “all that …”

Most celebrities are narcissistic fools who think that the world revolves around them. Their sycophantic hangers-on and paid advisers say “yes” to anything they say, do or suggest. Nobody wants to tell them the truth – that their ill-informed opinion garnered from some talking points handout does not make them a world leader. These people live in their own little world, cushioned from the perils of daily living by their wealth and paid legal, accounting, security and personal assistants.

Even organizations play to their tune as they are showered with medals, awards, degrees and other honors just for showing up. Of course, the reality is that they are used as chum – bait for the wealthy contributors and others who want to rub shoulders with celebrities. How else could you explain a Paris Hilton party?

What can YOU do?

Ignore celebrities except as entertainment. Ask yourself why you should believe those who are paid to mouth the words of others while acting sincere? Do not confuse them with their carefully-crafted public persona or well-written characters that they play.

Famous does not equate to smart or well-informed about any particular subject. To point out how ridiculous it is to rely on the ideas promoted by celebrities, just imagine Barbra Streisand as the Secretary of State in an Obama Administration. Ludicrous, to say the least. But who knows, her advice may work its way up the chain in proportion to her donations and support of the campaign.

The one thing celebrity insures is access. That they can explain their crackpot theories to people in power. Even if they are as dumb as a rock. Unfortunately, many of our legislators are equally dumb – a prime example being California’s Senator Barbara Boxer, widely acknowledged as the dimmest bulb in the Senate. I cannot forget her famous quote:

"Those who survived the San Francisco earthquake said, 'Thank God I'm still alive.' But of course those who died, their lives will never be the same again."

Do not vote for any candidate or current politician who is willing to subvert the safety, security, sovereignty and economic strength of the United States or limit an individual's right of self-defense for their personal philosophy, power, prestige or profits.
