POLITICAL CRIME IN CALIFORNIA: A $198,500 PUBLIC JOB PLUS A STATE VEHICLE?

Profligate state spending continues...

When the State of California is facing a multi-BILLION dollar deficit, why should the State of California continue to provide State-owned and insured vehicles for those who earn significantly more than the average California citizen? People who can well afford a private vehicle like the rest of us!

According to the Sacramento Bee...

"Sen. Jack Scott named next community college chancellor"

"At least one termed-out senator has landed his next job. Sen. Jack Scott, the chair of the Senate Education Committee, has been named the next chancellor of California's community college system."

"The Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges announced a unanimous vote Thursday to name Scott, 74, the 14th chancellor of 109-college system."

"Scott will receive a raise in his new job, which comes with a salary of $198,500 plus benefits. He also receives a state-paid car."

Why not a Republican?

While we do not doubt that the Senator is an able school administrator, having served as the former President of Pasadena City College, I am questioning why another liberal democrat is being appointed over another, possibly equally qualified, conservative Republican.

Stupid liberal position on "gun control" places children in jeopardy...

Like most liberals with their knee-jerk reactions, it seems that Scott cannot accept the fact that his son and his stupid friends were responsible for the death of Scott's son.

"Scott is very active in gun control. He began his gun control efforts after his son Adam was fatally shot. His son Adam, an attorney who had recently graduated from USC Law School, was at a party with friends and one of his friends had a shotgun, which he didn't know was loaded. His friend discharged the shotgun, hitting Adam and killing him."

So apparently to absolve his son of being stupid, by remaining in the vicinity of a weapon being handled at a party, this liberal democrat tried to blame the "system." And in the process, denying thousands of students much needed protection in these perilous times.

"After his son Adam was fatally shot in 1993, Scott ordered a unilateral disarmament for PCC Campus Police Officers, which is still in place."

Will he disarm the California State Campus Police?

I would like to suggest that Scott may not be not fit to be the head of a large,  prestigious educational system on the grounds that he lacks the judgement to protect the students in his charge.

Let me get this straight. His son is killed in an senseless and stupid accident caused by someone mishandling a weapon at a party and this so-called learned man decides to disarm the campus police?

It makes sense only if you are angry at what happened and are lashing out at the system. We cannot allow these bitter and angry individuals to make weapons policies based on their personal beliefs in contravention of the Constitution's Second Amendment.

Perhaps, Scott should be railing against stupid behavior and concentrate on those who commit criminal acts while leaving the law-abiding citizens alone.

People visiting a "gun free zone" henceforth shall be called "potential victims.

What can YOU do?

Restore common sense to politics. In times of budgetary crisis, nobody should receive the use of a state owned vehicle if they are making more than $100,000 and can well afford to live under the constraints which affect us all.

It is bad enough that political hacks, like the 54 year-old Campus Police Chief of the University of California at Bezerkeley who received a $2.1 million payout of her retirement fund and remains employed by the University. There is no longer any justification for allowing political appointees to live like millionaire corporate CEOs on the public's nickel.

Recognize that it is a matter of "crime control" not gun control that matters. And that disarming any police force is not only imprudent, it may result in additional funds being paid by the state should something occur that the legitimate, but disarmed, police could not handled.

Do not vote for politicians who are fiscally irresponsible and yet demand that the people need to pay higher and higher taxes to cover their special interest projects.
