If it involves politics, it has probably been corrupted...

Political solutions to any problem are, by their very nature, suspect. Promoted by special interests who have captured the interests of politicians by campaign funds and support. These same special interests that package and spoon-feed ideas and stories to the media. All coming together in a confluence of manipulation for the sole purpose of gaining power, influence and profits.

Winners and losers...

Which is why the subject of so-called "global warming" has resonated well in the far-left political community.

For the media, there is another subject to fill numerous pages of print and almost countless hours of airtime. To create and promote a controversy which drives the audience to read, listen and watch their programming. Programming which is designed to enlarge advertising revenues by driving audience numbers ever higher. Unfortunately, much of the media has devolved into corporate profit machines where simply telling the plain truth is no longer attractive as it does not lead to increased revenues.

For the politicians, it is a chance to increase political control over the populace and enlarge the government. All fueled by increased taxes to fight the so-called "bogeyman" problem. Besides with such large time scales, they need not produce any measurable results -- and thus avoid criticism.

For some scientists, this is a chance to increase the availability of their research funds. Large, well-known institutions which seem driven more by political and funding concerns, are jumping on the bandwagon.

But the greatest benefit accrues to the polluters. Those corporations who refuse to clean up their act and continue to discharge harmful pollutants into the water, air and ground each and every day. Sometimes knowingly paying outrageous fines to the government because the fine is cheaper than mitigating their polluting systems. As long as these pollution-fighting costs can be minimized,  the stockholders will see profits and the executives will earn their outrageous bonuses.

The losers, of course, are the people who lose more of their individual liberty, are forced to pay higher taxes and whose lives and quality of living continues to be threatened by man-made pollution.

The real "magic" of pollution credits...

To illustrate the outrageous nature of the emissions trading scheme, let us consider the case of a gross polluter who is systematically killing all those who live within the pollution boundaries of a single plant. Perhaps killing is too harsh of a word, so let us just assume that they are creating conditions which lead to a statistically significant increase in cancers and respiratory distress.

Without the emission credits, the polluter would need to spend millions of dollars in pollution abatement. Profits would be impacted and the executives would receive smaller bonuses. The people in the surrounding area would benefit from cleaner water, air and reduced ground contamination.

However, with the magic of pollution credits, the evil gross polluter can pay a middleman broker to obtain emissions credits which were created by a businessman claiming to plant trees somewhere in the world. Probably where trees grow freely and their is abundant cheap labor to throw the seeds in the ground. An area with abundant rainfall that produces lush plant growth. By showing the government their "official" emissions certificates they have met the requirements for reducing their polluting emissions and have help stem the tide of so-called global warming. Unfortunately, the people near the polluting facility are still wheezing their way into such fun diseases as emphysema and pleading with their HMO for a cancer treatment to costly to be considered "customary and routine" treatment.

The United Nations as the global bookkeeper...

The global bookkeeper, probably a functionary agency of the United Nations, records that the emissions goals have been satisfied and that all is well with the world. As with all things involving the United Nations, reality and the deaths of thousands of people do not seem to matter in the context of their "global" domination and control scenario -- ostensibly for the benefit of all mankind. In reality, another socialist pipedream which features the collective group over the productive and responsible individual.

But the schemes related to "global warming" are steadily be revealed for what  they really are: political control and profit enhancers. And the background "junk science" is giving way to real scientific exposition.

What! Global warming is not man-made...

To enact political reform and collect those tax revenues, the special interests and their minions must convince the people that the underlying phenomenon of global warming is caused by man... and thus is subject to control. By using "junk science" which overlooks the fact that man cannot control the two largest determinants in global climate change, solar output and water vapor, the pundits waffle on endlessly about how man can influence nature. Yeah, right! When has man altered the shift of the tectonic plates to mitigate earthquakes or drilled relief holes to prevent the catastrophic explosion of volcanoes? A simple calculation of the carbon dioxide dumped into the atmosphere by natural sources compared with man-made sources proves my point.

Another scientist weighs in...

"Natural forces, not human activity, are primarily responsible for any global warming taking place, prominent atmospheric and space physicist Fred Singer declared Monday at the Heartland Institute's 2008 International Conference on Climate Change in New York City. "

"What's more, the preponderance of scientific evidence about natural forces causing global warming is so great that the issue is settled, Singer said."

"'The science is settled in the sense that we have evidence that most of the climate change taking place today is caused by natural forces and not by human activity,' Singer said during his luncheon address at the conservative Heartland Institute."

Will he be "pooh-poohed"  by the media and politicians as a "contrarian?"

"As was previously reported by the Cybercast News Service, Singer is a long-time critic of the "alarmist" view of global warming. "

"He was among 100 speakers and panelists taking part in the climate conference, which was attended by scientists from a dozen countries, including Australia, Canada, England, France, New Zealand, Russia and Sweden."

"The conference is designed to give so-called "contrarian" scientists the opportunity to freely express their views on climate change. "

Will his future funding be cut, his projects eliminated?

"In a letter to the conference, Heartland Institute President Joseph Bast praised the scientists for taking a stand against political correctness and for protecting the scientific method at personal cost to themselves."

"A summary of 'Nature, Not Human Activity, Rules the Climate,' Singer's latest report, was released at the conference. Singer discussed some of the study's major findings in his address."

Dueling panels...

"The report, published by the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), is a rejoinder to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Singer said."

"The IPCC, he said, has failed to produce any hard evidence suggesting that humans are largely responsible for the planet's current warming cycle. "

"The same information and data used by the U.N. IPCC was also applied in the NIPCC's exercise, Singer said."

"However, in contrast to the U.N. study, an effort was made in his work to 'connect the dots' between greenhouse model outputs and actual observations, Singer explained. In the end, no significant amount of warming resulting from human activity could be detected, he said."

Impact on public policy...

The consequences of these results are "'far reaching,' especially as they pertain to public policy, said Singer. Since natural variability is responsible for climate change, it logically follows that warming and cooling periods are unstoppable and that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant, he noted.

Enter "special interest" politics...

"Unfortunately, the political class has already attached itself to another set of assumptions that sees a strong correlation between man-made emissions and global warming, said Singer."

"For this reason, 'the train is already moving in the opposite direction" with all three leading presidential candidates embracing views that do not hold up under scientific scrutiny, he said.'"

"Consensus is a political construction..."

"Marc Morano, a spokesman for Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), agrees with Singer. 'Consensus is a political construction,' Morano said in an interview with Cybercast News Service. Nevertheless, the alarmist view that argues in favor of substantial human contribution to global warming is actually losing supporters, he said."

Courage of their convictions and the results of their scientific work?

"On average, there are anywhere from two to four new scientists per week in the English-speaking world who are publicly announcing their skepticism about claims that human activity is primarily responsible for climate change, said Morano. (Disclosure: Marc Morano is a former investigative reporter for Cybercast News Service.)"

Hear that Al Gore, no consensus!

"Most of the speakers gathered for the conference agree that there is no genuine consensus on global warming and man-made emissions."

"In fact, international survey results show that almost half of the climate scientists polled in 2003 disagreed with what is often portrayed as being 'the consensus' view, according to a booklet published by the Heartland Institute."

Those flawed models...

"Most recently, Dr. Joanne Simpson, an atmospheric scientist who previously served with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, outlined her views in a blog cautioning against excessive reliance on climate models."

"'Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization or receive any funding, I can speak quite frankly,' she wrote."

"'For more than a decade now 'global warming' and its impacts has become the primary interface between our science and society. ... There is no doubt that atmospheric greenhouse gases are rising rapidly and little doubt that some warming and bad ecological events are occurring,' Simpson added.
'However, the main basis of the claim that man's release of greenhouse gases is the cause of the warming is based almost entirely upon climate models,' she said. 'We all know the frailty of models concerning the air-surface system. We only need to watch the weather forecasts.'"

What can YOU do?

Maintain your common-sense perspective and do not let political hacks like Al Gore stampede you into supporting decisions driven mostly by the special interests and their bought-and-paid-for politicians. Make Al Gore debate the issue in an open forum without the press restriction he so often imposes. Make Al Gore fully disclose the details of the emission credits company he heads.

Realize that there is no need to panic or take precipitous political action. The fact that science tends to indicate the CO2 emissions lag temperature rise by 800-1000 years proves that there is sufficient time to further research the matter before imposing political sanctions which could cripple our liberties and significantly impair our economy.

Vaclav Klaus, a politician and president of the Czech Republic, another speaker at the Heartland Conference declared "Centralized planners with 'megalomaniac ambitions' are now working to restrain democratic development and economic activity under the guise of environmentalism"

Consider the fact that global climate change (either warming or cooling) is cyclical and that man has always adapted to the local weather conditions. And will do so in the future. In fact, there may be greater benefits to global warming that is being portrayed by politicians and in the media. After all Greenland was named "Greenland" for a reason.

Do not vote for any candidate or current politician who is willing to subvert the safety, security, sovereignty and economic strength of the United States or limit an individual's right of self-defense for their personal philosophy, power, prestige or profits.
