Pathetic Iowa Debate -- Worthless except for a brief Fred Thompson moment
First, who is Alan Keyes and why is he on the stage? While he is passionate and articulate in a Ron Paul way, he has virtually no chance to become the President.
Second, who chose this moderator? I know that Carolyn Washburn is the editor of The Des Moines Register which is cosponsoring the Republican debate and the Democratic forum tomorrow -- and who allegedly prepared rigorously for the debate, but was she required to leave her personality at the door and turn into a 60ish school marm?
And if this is what Fred Thompson is selling as the defining moment of the debate -- the debate accomplished nothing. There was nothing remotely presidential about his refusal to answer a question -- even though the campaign is trying to spin it as a Reaganesque moment.
Other than an amusing moment... it did little to define the candidate or his position -- and said everything about his possibly pre-planned petulance.

What can YOU do?
Do not accept spin and fluff on procedural matters as a substantive answer to be equated with answering fully and completely questions which will deeply affect our society and country.
Looking presidential for a moment in time means nothing. We are dealing with an actor whose character on Law and Order had many similar key-lighted moments -- and it meant nothing other than a line well-delivered.
To judge a campaign by dials-and-meters or by who has the most prickly response to a stupid "hand trick" demeans the quality of discourse in this nation and prepares us only to receive a lightweight as our President.
Judge for yourself if they are saying something important on the issues of the day.

- economic growth and prosperity
Do not vote for any candidate or current politician who is willing to subvert the safety, security, sovereignty and economic strength of the United States or limit an individual's right of self-defense for personal power, prestige or profits.
