Chinese Fundraising Scandal 1:
Big Source of Clinton's Cash Is an Unlikely Address -- Wall Street Journal
"DALY CITY, Calif. -- One of the biggest sources of political donations to Hillary Rodham Clinton is a tiny, lime-green bungalow that lies under the flight path from San Francisco International Airport."
"Six members of the Paw family, each listing the house at 41 Shelbourne Ave. as their residence, have donated a combined $45,000 to the Democratic senator from New York since 2005, for her presidential campaign, her Senate re-election last year and her political action committee. In all, the six Paws have donated a total of $200,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005, election records show."
"It isn't obvious how the Paw family is able to afford such political largess. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. William Paw, the 64-year-old head of the household, is a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service who earns about $49,000 a year, according to a union representative. Alice Paw, also 64, is a homemaker. The couple's grown children have jobs ranging from account manager at a software company to "attendance liaison" at a local public high school. One is listed on campaign records as an executive at a mutual fund."
"The Paws' political donations closely track donations made by Norman Hsu, a wealthy New York businessman in the apparel industry who once listed the Paw home as his address, according to public records. Mr. Hsu is one of the top fund-raisers for Mrs. Clinton's presidential campaign. He has hosted or co-hosted some of her most prominent money-raising events."
Chinese Fundraising Scandal 2:
An unlikely treasure-trove of donors for Clinton -- latimes.com
NEW YORK -- Something remarkable happened at 44 Henry St., a grimy Chinatown tenement with peeling walls. It also happened nearby at a dimly lighted apartment building with trash bins clustered by the front door.
And again not too far away, at 88 E. Broadway beneath the Manhattan bridge, where vendors chatter in Mandarin and Fujianese as they hawk rubber sandals and bargain-basement clothes.
All three locations, along with scores of others scattered throughout some of the poorest Chinese neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, have been swept by an extraordinary impulse to shower money on one particular presidential candidate -- Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.
"Dishwashers, waiters and others whose jobs and dilapidated home addresses seem to make them unpromising targets for political fundraisers are pouring $1,000 and $2,000 contributions into Clinton's campaign treasury. In April, a single fundraiser in an area long known for its gritty urban poverty yielded a whopping $380,000. When Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) ran for president in 2004, he received $24,000 from Chinatown."
"At this point in the presidential campaign cycle, Clinton has raised more money than any candidate in history. Those dishwashers, waiters and street stall hawkers are part of the reason. And Clinton's success in gathering money from Chinatown's least-affluent residents stems from a two-pronged strategy: mutually beneficial alliances with powerful groups, and appeals to the hopes and dreams of people now consigned to the margins."
"Clinton has enlisted the aid of Chinese neighborhood associations, especially those representing recent immigrants from Fujian province. The organizations, at least one of which is a descendant of Chinatown criminal enterprises that engaged in gambling and human trafficking, exert enormous influence over immigrants. The associations help them with everything from protection against crime to obtaining green cards."
"Many of Clinton's Chinatown donors said they had contributed because leaders in neighborhood associations told them to. In some cases, donors said they felt pressure to give."
Potential Conflict of Interest
Conflict of Interest: Burson-Marsteller and Hillary Clinton's Alliance -- DickMorris.com
“Running a presidential campaign is good for business.”
"Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton’s chief strategist and the Worldwide CEO of international public relations/ lobbying firm Burson-Marsteller, wrote those telling words in his confidential internal corporate blog."
"Given the breadth of his company’s representation of special interests, Penn’s assertion may be the understatement of the year. The number of Burson-Marsteller clients — both corporations and foreign governments — that will likely try to influence the next administration is staggering. "
"And so is the potential for a serious conflict of interest. As a campaign strategist, Penn meets and speaks constantly with both Clintons and with other key policy advisors. He is in a unique position to influence what the candidate supports or opposes — not only during the campaign but also later on in a future Clinton administration. And he has ample opportunity to weigh in on issues that are vital to Burson-Marsteller’s clients."
"But neither Penn nor Hillary Clinton seems to see any problem there — even though Penn has already showed poor judgment in this area."
"During Bill Clinton’s second term, while Penn was the president’s chief political strategist — with unfettered access to the President and First Lady, his polling firm, Penn & Schoen, contracted to lobby the Clinton administration on behalf of a bank operated by several Central American countries — for a half million dollar fee. (The firm had never registered as either a lobbyist or foreign agent before.) "
"Burson-Marsteller ultimately bought Penn & Schoen and Penn became its head honcho."
"The firm’s publicly known clients are a veritable "Who’s Who" of corporations in crisis, as well as companies and foreign governments looking for favors from Congress and the White House. "
"Just look at recent Burson-Marsteller clients that have been in the news in the past two weeks. "

"Penn is not paid anything at all by the Clinton campaign. His compensation at Burson-Marsteller is directly tied to the performance of the company, which is booming."
I wonder if this makes him a "paid lobbyist" in training? Should Hillary be elected, it is expected that he too would be rewarded with access to government officials who plan to spend billions of new tax dollars.
All of this is reminiscent of the first Clinton Administration (Courtesy of Wikipedia)...
"The 1996 United States campaign finance controversy was an alleged effort by the People's Republic of China (PRC) to influence domestic American politics prior to and during the Clinton administration and also involved the fund-raising practices of the administration itself."
"Twenty-two people were eventually convicted for fraud or for funneling Asian funds into the United States elections. A number of the convictions came against longtime Clinton-Gore friends and political appointees."
Lin "Charlie" Trie...
"The biggest of the illegal foreign money donations was a $460,000 donated by Yah Lin 'Charlie' Trie to President Bill Clinton's legal defense fund. The donation was made via 460 separate $1,000 money orders made out in different names but with all the same handwriting."
"Born in Taiwan, Trie went to the U.S. in 1974. He eventually became an American citizen and co-owner of a restaurant in Little Rock, Arkansas where he became friends with then Governor Clinton. In addition to the donation to Clinton's defense fund, Trie and his family donated $220,000 to the DNC which was later returned."
"Immediately after the donation to Clinton's defense fund, Tri sent a letter to President Clinton that told the president he risked war with China if the United States tried to interfere with China's military exercises near Taiwan."
"When Charlie Trie's fund-raising activities were questioned by the U.S. Congress in late 1996, he left the country for China. Trie returned to the U.S. in 1998 and was convicted and sentenced to three years probation and four months home imprisonment (the act of being in prison) for violating federal campaign finance laws. "
"In February 1996, Trie brought Wang Jun, leader of CITIC (the top investment company of the Chinese government) and Poly Technologies (a company that did business for the Chinese military" that was later criminally charged with smuggling 2,000 AK-47 weapons into the U.S.), to a White House meeting with the president. President Clinton later admitted Wang's attendance at the White House was 'inappropriate.' According to Clinton, the event attended by Wang was a small group discussion."
Johnny Chung and Liu Chaoying...
"Johnny Chung also attended some of Ron Brown's Commerce Department trade missions to Asia. Born in Taiwan, Chung made forty-nine separate visits to the White House between February 1994 and February 1996.During one of the Commerce Department trade missions to China, Chung became friends with former Chinese Lt. Col. Liu Chaoying, an employee of China Aerospace Holdings (China's main satellite company) and daughter of former Chinese General Liu Huaqing."
"Between 1994 and 1996, Chung donated $366,000 U.S. dollars to the DNC. Eventually, all of the money was returned. Chung told U.S. government investigators that $35,000 of the money he donated came from Liu Chaoying and China's military."
John Huang, James Riady and Lippo Group...
"John Huang was another major figure convicted. Born in 1945 in Nanping, Fujian, Huang and his father fled to Taiwan at the end of the Chinese Civil War before he eventually emigrated to the United States in 1969. A former employee of the Indonesian company Lippo Group's Lippo Bank and its owners Mochtar Riady and his son James (whom Huang first met along with Bill Clinton at a financial seminar in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1980), Huang became a key fund-raiser within the DNC in 1995. While there, he raised $3.4 million for the party. Nearly half had to be returned when questions arose regarding their source during later investigations by Congress."
"According to U.S. Secret Service logs, Huang visited the White House 78 times while working as a DNC fund-raiser.James Riady visited the White House 20 times (including 6 personal visits to President Clinton)."
"Immediately prior to joining the DNC, Huang worked in President Clinton's Commerce Department as deputy assistant secretary for international economic affairs. His position made him responsible for Asia-U.S. trade matters. He was appointed to the position by President Clinton in December 1993. His position at the Commerce Department gave him access to classified intelligence on China. While at the department, it was later learned, Huang met 9 times with Chinese embassy officials in Washington D.C. The reasons for the meetings were never learned."
And on-and-on it went, fund-raising improprieties, alleged influence peddling and a host of other illegal or deceptive practices for the benefit of campaign-contributing special interests. Click here to view the Clinton Scandal Summary Archive.
Truth-be-told, Hillary Clinton is a junior Senator with no business experience, little or no leadership experience, a polarizing personality, a background of being associated with chaos and corruption -- and a hard-left socialist viewpoint.
What can YOU do?
Do not ignore the old dictums ... "history repeats itself" and the sage advice of that great politician and leader, Winston Churchill, "Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it."
With Hillary, as with the great majority of democrats, you just do not know what will happen. They prefer political expediency over personal and professional ethics. The current crop of Republicans does not seem much better -- but at least they will defend the United States rather than weaken our military and sap our economy with higher taxes spent on frivilous and inconsequential projects proposed by campaign donors and special interests.
Do not vote for any candidate or current politician who is willing to subvert the safety, security and sovereignty of the United States or limit an individual's right of self-defense for personal power, prestige or profits.
