THERE COMES A TIME TO TELL THE ENVIRONMENTAL LEFTISTS NO!
It is no secret that Marxists, Stalinists, Anarchists, Communists and those who are anti-American have found a home in both the environmental movement and in the democrat party. Whose tactics to curtail America's productivity and wealth primarily consists of using using our freedoms and laws against us to gain what they cannot gain in an election. And who tar us with labels such as "racist," "bigot," "homophobe," "polluter," and worse if we dare disagree with them. And whose media reach, through their friends in Hollywood and New York, are used to cow elected officials and other public servants lest they be branded with a label which affects not only their livelihood, but their very lives.
IT IS TIME TO STAND UP TO THESE BULLIES AND JUST SAY NO! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! YOU HATE AMERICA, SO HERE IS YOUR PLANE TICKET TO THE "WORKER'S PARADISE" YOU CONTINUALLY PROMOTE.
We are not talking about spirited dissent where arguments between two honorable people improves not only raised the quality of discourse beyond name-calling, but can result in reforms which benefit society. Likewise, we are not speaking of people with strong opinions which may be justifiable or not. We are talking about malicious, malevolent haters who would like nothing better than the United States to morph into a third-world nation.
Which brings me to the latest outrage that insults both our modern society as well as being capable of doing real damage to my beloved Southern California. No, we are not speaking of the invasion of illegal aliens which has all but destroyed our emergency healthcare systems, our schools, our criminal justice system, our social safety nets and our retirements. We are speaking of something much more deadly and damaging -- even scarier than that illegal alien driving drunk on the freeway with a heavy junk car and no insurance.
We are speaking about the loss of our precious water rights which are necessary to sustain life and our economy in an area which is technically a desert. Something so simple and dastardly as to drive law-abiding, tax-paying citizens from their homes as prices rise and our economy falters.
All because of a fish, a tiny three-inch fish known as a "Delta Smelt, which, if you believe the environmentalists is the messenger of ecological indications in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta area. The smelt, a weak swimmer according to ichthyologists, gets trapped in the large pumps used to pump water from the delta area to be used in Southern California. According to Wikipedia, the smelt lives for approximately one year and dies after its first spawning.
Science, you know-- where the subject matter is based on facts: where one puts forth a theory, confirms it by observation or experiment, and then submits it to the world to scrutinize -- tells me that I can do more to monitor the conditions in the Delta with an automated scientific instrument known as a gas chromatograph than counting or slicing and dicing the delta smelt.
Personally, I don't care any more for this stupid fish than I do the liberal nonsensical people who live in and around San Francisco.
JUDGE'S RULING MAY RESULT IN AN ARTIFICIALLY CREATED SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DROUGHT, BRINGING WATER RATIONING AND ECONOMIC WOES TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
According to reports in the Central Valley Business Times and the Los Angeles Times...
On August 31, 2007, Federal Judge, Oliver Wanger of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California ruled that the rare declining fish delta smelt should be protected by imposing limits on water flows caused by huge pumps at San Joaquin-Sacramento River delta from December to June.
The decision comes in a suit filed by the Natural Resources Defense Council and Earthjustice against the Department of Interior and water agencies, among others.
So who are these feel-good, environmental socialists who manage to make a living out of litigation involving real or imagined insults to our environment?
Earthjustice is a non-profit public interest law firm that specializes in pro-environmental litigation. It was founded in 1971, under the name "Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund," by two volunteer lawyers working with the Sierra Club.
It should be noted that the Sierra Club was originally founded by John Muir in 1892 and the organization is primarily remembered for its involvement in the establishment of the National Park Service and other good works. It is now more of a political action committee committed to left-wing and democratic causes. Which, for some, makes it the premier environmental extremist group in America.
Natural Resources Defense Council is another left-wing extremist environmental group that not only watches the habitat of endangered species, but also monitors our nation's stockpile of nuclear weapons (HUH?).
And the matter is not crystal clear...
In 2005, when a large number of the California Water Project's 40-year contracts with its customers were coming due, water managers asked the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to determine what effect their plans would have on the tiny fish. In a biological opinion, the federal agency concluded that water operations in the delta did not jeopardize the smelt's survival.
The finding brought howls of protest from environmentalists, who promptly sued in federal court. They said the biological opinion was part of a pattern of Bush administration environmental decisions that ignored sound science.
Wanger invalidated the biological opinion in May. He called the delta smelt "indisputably in jeopardy as to its survival and recovery," and castigated the federal report as "arbitrary, capricious and contrary to law."
What can YOU do?
Realize that nature is tremendously adaptive. Species come and species go -- and there is no one among us that either knows nature's grand plan or can project the effects of a "smelt down."
Realize that the leftists have co-opted our institutions and are now using our freedoms and laws against us.
Vote for judges and the elected officials who appoint them based not on their activism, creating life-altering law where none exists, but on the traditionalists who act a neutral arbiters of fact and then compare the facts with what appears in statute and case law. We do not need more laws, we need the serious application of the laws already on the books.
Vote against any candidate or elected official that appears to have been bought by the special interests with their own political agenda.
Vote for ecologically sound plans that allow for the growth and prosperity of America and not those that simply deny and curtail what we currently enjoy.
As for the Delta Smelt, I would not be surprised if they adapt and survive on their own; without the intervention of lawyers and activists who are attempting to channel the wishes of the ultimate creator.
