CRAPPING ON THE INTERNET: PIRACY PROTECTION GOES AMOK?

According to a news story in the New York Post's celebrity gossip column, the famed "Page Six," Harvey Weinstein may have used diversionary tactics which not only added to the permanent clutter of the Internet, entrapped innocent people, but may have also violated Federal statutes regarding the collection, use and dissemination of non-public private information.

UN GENERATES A BUMPER CROP OF FERTILIZER

There is no polite way to say it. When United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon claims that the Darfur slaughter was triggered by global climate changes which can be linked to some degree of man-made global warming: he is full of crap!

Assuming that man's feeble efforts can affect the sub-Saharan region of Africa is ludicrous no matter how much carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere. Scientists have long studied the variability of rainfall in the region and come to the conclusion that is is cyclical and more dependent on solar output and wind/ocean currents than any other thousandth-order phenomenon.

Climate change as a cause of genocidal fighting pales next to the political corruption and religious undertones of truly evil and corrupt politicians. 

To cite the obvious: that there is never enough land or water to go around, is simply to overlook a government and their friends who can never seem to get enough.

IRAQI VIDEO-CONFERENCE: BUSHIT!

Now that President Bush, Congress and the Media have lost their creditability, who can you trust?

By way of illustration, consider the following widely-reported Associated Press news item.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush had a nearly hour-long secure video teleconference with Iraqi leaders on Monday and came away impressed and reassured by the progress they’re making on political, security and economic reforms, the White House said.

“It’s clear that you’ve got an environment now where the key leaders are working together on these issues,” during the 52-minute teleconference the president had with Iraq’s prime minister, president and two vice presidents, White House press secretary Tony Snow said.

RINO SHOWS HIS TRUE NATURE: TURNCOAT

Is it any surprise that New York Mayor Bloomberg, widely known as a RINO (Republican In Name Only), has decided to leave the Grand Old Party (GOP) and turn, once again, into something else?

WHATEVER-AMERICANS: YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED

An open letter to all hyphenated Americans:

The sad fact is that your individuality is being stolen by those political, social or religious groups who derive their power from a divided America.

How can they maintain their power, and often their income, if they cannot represent some constituency which will accept them as, at least, a de facto leader?

How many black-Americans do you think Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton really represent? Why do they feel the need to jet around the country to insert themselves in local news stories that are gaining national attention?

ANGELINA JOLIE: ANOTHER HOLLYWOOD HYPOCRITE

With most celebrities everything is all about them. Many of their charitable appearances are accompanied by demands for first class travel for the "principal" and their entourage, not to mention a laundry list of backstage amenities. Some demand awards such as the "Man or Woman of the Year" before they agree to appear. To be fair, on the other side, the organization's promoters are counting on the celebrity to attract press coverage or serve as the basis of event ticket sales.

Most public appearances are staged and the celebrity or their handlers are always aware of the image they are trying to present.

Unfortunately what you see is not always what you get. Through the magic of Hollywood, things are not always what they seem.

WHAT TO DO ABOUT McCAIN?

There is no doubt that Presidential candidate John McCain has morphed into a "Cindy Sheehan-like" figure: unassailable by their circumstances.

And like the odious anti-American Rhetoric spouted by Sheehan, McCain continues to flout the wishes of the American public by continuing to support the amnesty bill for illegal aliens.

IMMIGRATION: UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES -- HANDING OVER THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM

It appears that the immigration bill would allow foreign governments to influence American elections and indirectly participate in contributions to politicians and political parties.

It has been estimated that up to ten percent of Mexico's population is residing or has resided legally or illegally in the United States.

Have we fully explored the unintended consequences of providing full citizenship with voting privileges to a foreign population which has not been asked to renounce their allegiance to their native country and may maintain a form of dual citizenship? Thus, over time, those who return to their native lands still retain the right to vote by absentee ballot in American elections and provide political and campaign donations directly to both politicians and political parties.

WHY YOU CAN'T TRUST YOUR SENATORS

Forget the high-minded principles that they claim to have or their loudly proclaimed interest in looking out for the taxpayers. It is down-and-dirty politics as usual: who can get the most campaign contributions and support by pandering to the "special interests" and who can bring the pork back home to assist the general economy.

Whatever happened to the basic principle that controlled "taxation without representation?"

Look at the bottom of your telephone bill. In some cases the taxes, fees and surcharges -- which are all, in reality, imposed taxes by local, state and federal entities without any enabling vote by the people.
