LAPD MANAGEMENT OUT OF CONTROL: ARREST LAW ABIDING LEGAL CITIZENS TO AVOID CONFRONTING ILLEGAL ALIENS AND PRO-IMMIGRATION ACTIVISTS

Well-known Los Angeles community activist, Ted Hayes, obtained a valid permit to protest the current Administration's amnesty for illegal aliens legislation. Upon arriving at the venue to set-up for the protest rally, he found that the park was already inhabited by counter-protesters, mostly illegal aliens and their advocates. Some claim that this group contained some of the activists (including socialists and anarchists) that participated in the well-publicized police confrontation in the "May Melee" which led the LAPD Chief, William Bratton, to embark on a public hand-wringing exercise blaming the lack of leadership and training for the incident.

OBAMA: POT CALLS THE KETTLE BLACK!

Barack Obama, in a major speech on faith and politics to the national convention of the United Church of Christ in Hartford, Connecticut claimed, "Somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart."

Referring to the Christian Coalition, Obama said, "Faith got hijacked partly because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right who have been all too eager to exploit what divides us. At every opportunity they've told evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values and dislike their church; while suggesting to the rest of the country that religious Americans care only about issues like abortion and gay marriage, school prayer and intelligent design.

"…[W]e all have it within our power to make this a better world. Because we all have the capacity to... to rise above what divides us and come together to meet those challenges we can't meet alone."

"...So let's rededicate ourselves to a new kind of politics – a politics of conscience... [I]f we can embrace a common destiny – then I believe we'll not just help bring about a more hopeful day in America, we'll not just be caring for our own souls, we'll be doing God's work here on Earth."

What makes this speech amazing is that Obama's own church, Trinity United Church of Christ, is openly Afro-Centric and promotes what appears to be a highly racial agenda.

MARCHERS: "WASHINGTON -- HEAR OUR DEMANDS!"

Demands? Using OUR Constitutional guarantees of freedom of speech and the freedom of assembly, illegal aliens are demanding that Washington hear their demands.

Since when does a burglar demand a key to your house?

According to many, there was an undercurrent of potential violence -- especially when confronted by black counter-protesters who are claiming that illegal aliens are usurping low-end jobs in the community thus perpetuating poverty.

But who are "they" to be making demands on the American taxpayer when they have already destroyed much of the emergency healthcare in the poorer parts of the city, much of the educational infrastructure by clogging classrooms with children who speak little English and receive little or no educational encouragement from their parents.

POLITICAL COURAGE IS SAYING NO!

According to the Associated Press coverage of the President's weekly radio address, "President Bush urged lawmakers  to 'summon the political courage' to support his top domestic priority, an immigration overhaul that is hanging by a thread in Congress. 'We have an obligation to solve problems that have been piling up for decades ... 'The status quo is unacceptable.'”

With all due respect Mr. President, political courage is demonstrated when you turn away from an agenda that is promoted by the nation's president and senate... and do the right thing: vote against ill-conceived and ill-crafted legislation that does not benefit the American public.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE: CLINT EASTWOOD WANTS TO KILL 18,000 TREES IN RETURN FOR A "FISTFUL OF DOLLARS?"

Where are all of the usual left-leaning environmental whack-jobs that normally protest the killing of even a single tree? Those that normally offer up a hue and cry against the evil corporations that exploit the environment for profits and the pleasure of the rich "fat cats."

Where is the extended media attention on this issue. Why has the new left muted their attacks against the evil "destroyers" of the presumed delicate eco-structure?

Could it be because they are afraid of angering Hollywood and those who have supported their causes in the past?

DID THOMAS JEFFERSON GIVE US THE ANSWER TO OPPOSING ANY ILLEGAL AMNESTY BILL PASSED BY CONGRESS AND SIGNED BY THE PRESIDENT?

Short of either submission or open revolt, did Thomas Jefferson provide us with an alternative to obeying any Federal law that provides amnesty to illegal aliens? It appears so. And the answer lies within "states rights."

It is theoretically possible, according to Jefferson, to nullify duly passed laws of the Federal Government. A nullification which has never been tested and which may be beyond the powers of the Supreme Court to deny.

PRIVACY, THE PRESIDENT, AND EXAMINING EMAIL WITHOUT A WARRANT

Using former President Nixon's Administration as the baseline standard, there has never been such an emphasis on security and privacy within an Administration as is currently being manifest under President Bush. Unfortunately the same concerns do not seem to be extended to the Citizens of the United States.

FAIRNESS DOCTRINE IS NOT FAIR: Democrats and Republicans gang-up to control your media access

I was amazed at the recent pseudo-scientific study offered up by the Center for American Progress and Free Press which, in my humble position, does not stand for either American Progress or a Free Press.

These are the people engaged in trying to resurrect the "Fairness Doctrine" which ostensibly requires broadcasters to present a "fair and balanced" version of everything broadcast.

I am not the first to point out that the basic premise is not only stupid, but counterproductive... does that mean every mention of "evil" must be countered with a mention of "good?"

DO LOBBYISTS EVER SERVE THE PUBLIC?

I am continually amazed by organizations which portray themselves as a consumer or public interest groups, but turn out to be a collection of well-funded professional lobbyists who represent their own special interests rather than the public at large.

I was especially intrigued by a group that prepared a position chart containing each presidential candidate's stand on global warming. I thought that this would be a great consumer awareness tool ... until I found that the premise of the organization is: global warming is a catastrophe, and we need to take action immediately.

JIMMY CARTER: SHUT UP!

While the United States is mired in political pandering, expediency and legacy-building, very few things are as upsetting as Jimmy Carter running around the world running his mouth off about how others should view and respond to terrorists and dictators.

Much of the Islamo-fascist regime is the direct result of Carter's failed presidency and the policies he continues to promote.

Carter is so stupid as to believe that the infighting between the two terrorist regimes is somehow linked to American foreign policy...ignoring the internal fight to achieve power and the profits that come with looting the national treasury.

Maybe Jimmy-bob should visit Arafat's wife and ask about the billions that were diverted from the Palestinian people so that she and her entourage could live a life of comfort and ease.
