PREPARING THE BATTLEFIELD: THE UNFAIRNESS DOCTRINE

ANOTHER REASON AGAINST LETTING A CLINTON LOOSE IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Following in the soiled footsteps of failed former President Jimmy Carter, former President Clinton can not seem to keep his mouth shut... preferring to speak negatively about United States foreign and military policy on foreign soil.

While he does have the same "free speech" rights of any ordinary citizen, his extraordinary access to "classified information" and his position as the former President of the United States should make him more reserved and circumspect when discussing pending initiatives of our government.

There is no doubt that Clinton is seeking a larger position on the world stage, perhaps the as the head of the United Nations. But he does not have to speak poorly of his country or "tilt left" towards those who hate the United States and all that it stands for.

According to a Reuters' report...

Clinton derides U.S. missile shield plan

YALTA, Ukraine (Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton on Friday cast doubt on the effectiveness of a planned U.S. missile shield, deriding it as a "colossal waste of money".

Clinton said the defense system, parts of which are to be deployed in Poland and the Czech Republic, had created unnecessary difficulties with Russia, which denounces the plan as an attempt to undermine its defense capabilities.

"My facts may be wrong, but my impression is that we are creating a crisis here when none is necessary," Clinton told a conference in the Ukrainian resort of Yalta on the ex-Soviet state's relationship with Europe.

"Because I don't think the missile defense system is reliable enough to create an impact."

He suggested it was more logical to return to the reasoning of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan's long abandoned "star wars" projects of the 1980s intended to counter hostile missile systems.

"He wanted the Russians to have it, he wanted everyone to have it," he told the conference. "Unless they work better than I think they do, it's a colossal waste of money."

During the Clinton Administration rumors of unauthorized technology transfers between government contractors and foreign powers hostile to the interests of the United States surfaced.

From the Washington Post (May 31, 1998)...

Loral Corp. general counsel Julie Bannerman's rush order to stop transmission of a fax from her company's Beijing office to the Chinese government came an hour too late. The 25-page document, a report by Space Systems/Loral and other U.S. firms on why a Chinese rocket carrying their communications satellite into space had crashed, had already been sent to a distribution list that included the Chinese rocket-builders.

The same day, May 10, 1996, Bannerman told the State Department that Loral might inadvertently have violated laws regulating the export to China of high-technology information by transmitting the crash report and three other potentially sensitive documents.

Bannerman's call led to a Justice Department criminal investigation that is still ongoing into whether Loral jeopardized national security by turning over information that could aid Beijing's missile guidance systems. Yet early this year, despite expressions of concern from the Justice Department, President Clinton gave the company permission to launch another satellite in China.

In recent weeks, Republicans have alleged that Clinton cavalierly compromised "the national interest" as a favor to Loral and its chairman, Bernard L. Schwartz, in exchange for large campaign contributions since 1994. Both the White House and Loral have denied this.

Of course, the Administration was quick to respond to this and other articles covering the incident by placing the National Security Adviser before the press to proclaim...

"What happened is what often happens in Washington, which is that emotions run faster than facts" national security adviser Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger said in an interview. "But ultimately, facts catch up with emotion. The facts here are our friends."

Yes, this is the same Samuel R. "Sandy the Burglar" Berger that was convicted of stealing classified national defense documents from a "controlled area" by stuffing them down his pants, hiding them under an adjacent trailer and returning later for the documents... some of which were never to be seen again.

I am concerned about the left-leaning socialist incursion into the Democratic party.

I am concerned with the personal ethics of both the former President and the former First Lady... and their pandering to special interests and those of ideologies hostile to the United States.

And I am certainly concerned about any compromise of national security.

With the Democrats, and especially the Clintons, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT OR WHAT MAY HAPPEN.

What can YOU do?

Reject a Clinton or Bush candidacy on the premise that the American people can not trust the safety and security of the United States to their Administration.

Reject a Clinton or Bush candidacy on the premise that both Administrations were filled with chaos and corruption and that is the last thing we need when facing truly dangerous times.

Ignore the surface charm of Bill and the cold, calculating manufactured persona of Hillary... and vote for someone who is not tainted by personal scandal and who puts their country above any special interests or political ideology.

Vote for the best candidate and against those who would compromise the American Dream for their own political glory and personal gain.

Someone in the straight-shooting, plain-talking Reagan mold -- honest, forthright and, above all, patriotic.
