There is not doubt that, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the anarchists, communists, socialists, and other lefties needed a home... one that would offer them personal funding, political power and a platform to spew their shop-worn political domination theories. Well, they apparently found that home in the ecological/green movement. Where restrictive laws could be used to control vast segments of industry and populations based on so-called environmental needs.

Formerly rational-sounding politicians became proponents of the big lie: that the planet was in imminent danger because of man's actions on earth.

These alarmists often co-opted hack scientists with prestigious job titles who were little more than administrators functioning more in the political world than in the peer-reviewed scientific world. These scientists would then propound theories that would make a science fiction writer blush.

Amazingly enough, I have personally witnessed people with extremely impressive scientific credentials selling astrology programs to predict the stock market -- often under the guise of "secret technology." Why would they do this? The answer is simple. Money!

Based on specious theories and with the support of air-head celebrities and politicians, the environmental cry grew stronger.

Hard-headed and hard-hearted politicians began to see what power could be gained for their agencies if they followed suit. Hence the ring of corruption was complete. Laws based on junk science lent credence to other laws based on junk science. And control was exerted over entire industries and populations based on nothing more than mere speculation backed with little or no scientific proof.

Working scientists stayed mute. Politics was not their thing and they feared interrupting the flow of funding to their institutions and programs.

Which brings us back to Al Gore. There is no doubt that he is a publicity seeker looking for additional wealth and power -- along with the universal adulation that would come with a Nobel Prize for something -- it sure can't be the Peace Prize.

Or are there more sinister motives afoot? Is Al Gore really a shill for such Wall Street outfits as Lehman Brothers and others who would profit from capping and trading carbon emissions based on the fated Enron Model of energy trading? Where massive amounts of money can be transferred from public coffers into private hands with a minimum of muss and fuss.

The problem with Al Gore is that he appears to be neither rational or capable of understanding the mathematics behind science. If one were to believe Gore's oft-repeated prediction that "we have just TEN YEARS to begin saving the planet before it is too late," is to ignore a single fact that renders his argument moot. If one follows projections, in ten years, the atmospheric pollutants by Asia will dwarf those of the United States by such a statistically significant amount that you could shut down all of the United States industry, stop all vehicles, bring the United States to a complete halt -- and be exactly in the same place. That is, the pollution generated by the United States would be statistically irrelevant.

Does Al Gore want to cripple China, India and others in the region. No, he wants to impose his sanctions on the United States and Europe -- perhaps because he can actually get someone to listen to his blathering. As for China, they could care less. But being a communist/socialistic dictatorship, I am sure they have Al Gore's respect.

What can YOU do?

It all boils down to common sense.

Consider your own inability to measure your local temperature on a consistent basis. Even though an instrument will record temperature measurements to a hundredth of a degree -- the variability  of time, location and wind make individual measurements suspect as long-range predictors of the future.

I have such an instrument with twin thermocouple probes: the difference between the two probes is often as much as three-tenths of a degree. Well within the systemic noise range of the calibrated instrument. Now imagine a temperature curve that may rise only one or two degrees in a millennium, is this symptomatic of global warming? Can may change the output of the sun? Will there be long range consequences? Nobody really knows. But the fact is that people will continue to adapt to local conditions regardless of the weather.

Even mathematical models are not much of a help beyond ten days...much less twenty, fifty or a hundred years from now.

Respect the diversity of scientific studies and realize that science is not done by committee and that one scientist's opinion may be more valid than a roomful of equally credentialed and accomplished fellow scientists. Currently there is no consensus about either global warming or global cooling with advocates on both sides of the question. Be especially wary of those scientists who head prestigious organizations  who are, in reality, more political -- obtaining the funding for their organization -- than they are outspoken scientist.

And remember, wing nuts like Al Gore need to create controversies and panics to allow them to obtain and manipulate the power and the funding to achieve their own agendas. An agenda that is usually dictated by special interests to the detriment of the United States and its citizens.

VOTE. Do not vote for any person who is trying to panic the population into making political commitments which cede control over our great sovereign nation to any foreign bureaucracy -- especially those global institutions who want to tap into America's great strength and wealth for their own purposes.
