PREPARING THE BATTLEFIELD: THE UNFAIRNESS DOCTRINE

I drive approximately 140 miles roundtrip to work and back. In spite of two mobile phones and a variety of entertainment choices, I most often listen to talk radio. I switch between local celebrities (Bill Handle, John and Ken, Larry Elder, Al Rantel,) and the syndicated heavyweights (Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly) as I drive. In addition I sometimes set my radio on scan and randomly cruise the dial.

I cannot listen to any one talk jock continuously and consistently because of the "repetition" factor. But I do appreciate the news, some special guests and some of the spirited debate.

When I tried to listen to so-called "liberal" talk radio, it was virtually unlistenable. Regardless  of who I was listening to, most jokes fell flat and I was tired of hearing that the sky was falling and the world was in the midst of a catastrophic this or that. These people were, quite frankly, depressing.

They committed the ultimate radio sin: not so much by misstating their facts, but they were not amusing or informative enough to hold my attention for more than a few moments.

Now we have legislators ready to insert the faceless, but partisan, bureaucrats at agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission into monitoring the airwaves to ferret out those who do not lend equal time to both sides.

This is a ridiculous proposition. Assuming you are not a psychopath or sociopath and can recognize the difference between right and wrong: why would you give equal time to "evil" just to balance the time given to "good?"

ANOTHER REASON AGAINST LETTING A CLINTON LOOSE IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Following in the soiled footsteps of failed former President Jimmy Carter, former President Clinton can not seem to keep his mouth shut... preferring to speak negatively about United States foreign and military policy on foreign soil.

While he does have the same "free speech" rights of any ordinary citizen, his extraordinary access to "classified information" and his position as the former President of the United States should make him more reserved and circumspect when discussing pending initiatives of our government.

There is no doubt that Clinton is seeking a larger position on the world stage, perhaps the as the head of the United Nations. But he does not have to speak poorly of his country or "tilt left" towards those who hate the United States and all that it stands for.

PROOF POSITIVE THAT CHERTOFF SHOULD BE FIRED

A recent GAO (Government Accountability Office) report titled "Prospects for US-VISIT Biometric Exit Capability Remain Unclear" proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that killing the recent amnesty for illegal alien bill was the right thing to do and that Michael Chertoff should be fired as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Defense for dereliction of duty and malfeasance.

According to the report...

"After investing about $1.3 billion over 4 years, DHS has delivered essentially one-half of US-VISIT, meaning that biometrically enabled entry capabilities are operating at almost 300 air, sea, and land POEs (Port of Entry) but comparable exit capabilities are not."

"To the department’s credit, operational entry capabilities have reportedly produced results, including more than 1,500 people having adverse actions, such as denial of entry, taken against them."

"However, DHS still does not have the other half of US-VISIT (an operational exit capability) despite the fact that its funding plans have allocated about one-quarter of a billion dollars since 2003 to exit-related efforts."

"During this time, GAO has continued to cite weaknesses in how DHS is managing US-VISIT in general, and the exit side of US-VISIT in particular, and has made numerous recommendations aimed at better ensuring that the program delivers clearly defined and adequately justified capabilities and benefits on time and within budget."

"The prospects for successfully delivering an operational exit solution are as uncertain today as they were 4 years ago."

CHERTOFF AND GUTIERREZ: END THEIR POLITICAL CAREERS

I personally would like to see the public service careers of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez ended. There is no doubt that they were directed by President Bush to assist in what can be characterized as a last-ditch bid to salvage the illegal amnesty bill by approaching senators as they entered and left the chamber shortly before the vote which defeated this ill-crafted and dangerous legislation.

TEMPORARY VICTORY: POLITICIANS WAIT TO SEE IF OTHER SHOE DROPS BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH AMNESTY PLANS FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS

Before you prematurely congratulate yourself on your part in defeating the horrendous, poorly-crafted illegal amnesty bill, consider the fact that all of your efforts in making phone calls, sending faxes and emails did send a message... unfortunately, it might be an incomplete message.

Yes, the politicians were overwhelmed and scared about the public's unusual outcry to kill the amnesty bill for illegal aliens. And yes, the politicians couldn't wait to tell their backers that they will have to wait until after the elections when they are in a much safer position to resist or defy public opinion and renew their attempts at, once again, introducing this onerous and odious grant of amnesty to an undeserving segment of illegal aliens. They are telling their colleagues that the "public's memory is short and this will blow over." That the public rarely follows-through on their pledge to vote against incumbents.

So send the complete message...

YOU MUST FOLLOW-THROUGH ON YOUR PLEDGE TO ELIMINATE THOSE POLITICIANS WHO CRAFTED, SUPPORTED AND VOTED FOR THIS BILL -- IF YOU DON'T THIS WILL BE A SIGNAL TO CONGRESS THAT THEY CAN ACT WITH IMPUNITY AND SIMPLY RESERVE UNPOPULAR, SELF-SERVING OR DAMAGING LEGISLATION FOR TIMES WHEN ELECTIONS ARE NOT LOOMING CLOSE AT HAND.

If you fail to toss Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, John McCain, Jon Kyl, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Trent Lott, Lindsey Graham, Mel Martinez and others overboard, this unprecedented and massive effort of "the people" will be nullified and Congress will turn to "business as usual:" bamboozling the public.

What can YOU do?

Be true to your word: throw those who almost subverted the national safety and culture of the United States  by pandering to special interests and illegal aliens out of office.

Remember that we were only a few votes short of a national catastrophe and only a few Senators resisted both their own party's pressure and the White House to save American from the demographic dilution of its culture and financial stability.

IRAQ: PROTECTING CHINA'S OIL INVESTMENT WITH AMERICAN BLOOD?

In spite of his reputation as an "oil man," and the claim of the lefties that "Iraq was all about oil," it is amazing that George Bush's administration is so out of touch with the Iraqi government that they could pull off a Chinese oil deal right under the nose of the Administration.

It is also no wonder that all of the Democratic anti-Iraq war rhetoric may have pushed the Iraq government to seek protection of the Chinese military should the democrats engineer an immediate pull-out of Iraq.

According to published reports, Presidential wannabe Al Gore continues to carp about the coverage given to Paris Hilton when he is the one screaming that the planet is in imminent danger.

Imagine, the daughter of the self-proclaimed peace-loving, anti-gun, lesbian Rosie O'Donnell sporting the very latest fashion accessory: what appears to be a bullet bandolier. Someone should ask Rosie if this is a fashion statement, an anti-war statement, a child exploitation issue, a child's revolt against her mother's anti-gun (for everybody except her bodyguards) stance or simply a pathetic plea to remain relevant and generate publicity while she is seeking another show?

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT: Did President Bush Misspeak or Accidentally Tell the Truth?

From the White House Transcript...

"You know, I've heard all the rhetoric -- you've heard it, too -- about how this is amnesty. Amnesty means that you've got to pay a price for having been here illegally, and this bill does that. But it also recognizes it's in our nation's interest to bring people out of the shadows; that there's got to be a way forward that recognizes there is a penalty for being here illegally -- on the other hand, that recognizes that each person has got worth and dignity."

Other telling remarks...

"I do want to thank Secretary Gutierrez and Secretary Chertoff for their hard work."

These two individuals would be better utilized by cleaning up the chaos and corruption in their own Agencies (Homeland Defense and Commerce) than spending time on a bill which weakens both the defense and commerce in the United States. There is no evidence that either man has contributed substantially to any effort, other than lobbying Congress, to making this bill more protective of the rights of ordinary citizens.
