TIT-FOR-TAT: MASSAGING MORE THAN WASHINGTON EGOS?
Once again we encounter the magic Washington triad: money—sex—power and the immutable Washington transformation rule: if you have one leg of the triad, you can quickly and easily convert it into any of the two other legs. Unfortunately, it seems that there may much more than a simple tale of a prostitution ring...
It all starts with Deborah Jeane Palfrey who allegedly ran an upscale escort service called Pamela Martin & Associates; who was said to have provided a “discreet, legal, high-end erotic fantasy service” for upscale customers of quality… at least those who could afford 90 minutes of pleasure for approximately $250-300.00 – or, according to some, those with highly generous friends.
In an effort to prove the legality of her escort service operations, Palfrey has decided to call a number of high profile witnesses who she hopes will vindicate her by claiming that they received massages or engaged in fantasy role playing — eschewing actual sex. Many believe that this was an implied threat from Palfrey and that the prosecution would somehow manage to settle the criminal charges against her in a way that avoids the widespread release of Palfrey’s client list.
Palfrey proved them wrong when she first sought to sell the list to the highest bidder to fund her defense, but when denied that avenue of opportunity by the court, she provided the list to the ABC News for, as yet undetermined, consideration.
ABC has confirmed in various on-air interviews that the list contains the phone numbers of a number of high ranking administration members, members of congress, and other official agencies in and around Washington as well as lawyers, lobbyists, and businessmen. Women were not spared as Palfrey also seems to be prepared to name a number of “women of position” that served as escorts.
This sad affair is apparently being exploited by ABC to enhance its May Sweeps by airing selected tidbits from the list, starting with a 20–20 program covering the entire matter. How many actual names will be ultimately exposed is anybody’s guess. Look for saturation coverage on all channels as they attempt to dilute ABC's advantage with counter-programming.
Unfortunately, one such potential witness/victim is Randall Tobias who served the Administration as the head of AID (Agency for International Development) which demanded an anti-prostitution pledge before receiving any agency funding. Although he claims he only required massage services — instead of servicing, he was forced to resign from his administration job.
This is a man of substance who previously served as the former chairman and CEO of pharmaceutical manufacturer Eli Lilly & Company and of communications giant AT&T International. He also served as a board member of Duke University.
Another disclosed potential witness/victim is identified as Harlan K. Ullman who serves with the Center for Strategic and International Studies and is widely credited as the author of the “shock and awe” campaign.
And yet another potential witness/victim is said to be Dick Morris, whose toe sucking antics with a shady lady were widely chronicled in the media. It should be noted that Morris is openly critical of Hillary Clinton and has served as a news analyst for the Fox Cable network.
Are we seeing a pattern here? Or should we wait a little longer to find out if the left-leaning ABC news is targeting major Administration figures and contributors? Considering Bill Clinton’s term of office ran from 1993 to 2001 and that Palfrey has only provided the records from 2002-2006 to ABC News … even though she was in business thirteen years, makes the selected record release suspect. As with all conspiracy theories, one needs to question the timing of the prosecution efforts. It should be noted that members of the IRS and Postal Inspectors Office have been working on this case for at least two years.
Considering the number or lawyers, lobbyists and others running to ABC to check if their clients can be spared public embarrassment, puts ABC in the catbird seat. To concentrate this amount of Washington VIP power in a single news organization is frightening.
What can YOU do?
Consider the possibility of a weapon of mass distraction. Keep your eye on the ball. Look around. What other events are being overshadowed, ignored or downplayed by the media in covering this case?
Ignore the titillating facts of the case and consider the ramifications of non-disclosure of the full list.
Call for the public disclosure of the entire list.
Since blackmail and extortion, especially by foreign agents and others, are real possibilities, the list should be made public. People on the list should not be forced to resign, but should be interviewed by those agents of justice who are seeking to curtail undue influence in national politics. By placing everything on the table and eliminating any strategic advantage inherent in knowing the names on the list, Washington might become a tad more ethical (if that is possible).
