WHY CELEBRITIES ARE OFTEN "FULL OF CRAP"

Saving the Earth: The Biodiesel Bus Blog - washingtonpost.com.

A funny illustration why one shouldn’t listen to celebrities and performers on important subjects like science and the environment can be found in the “Biodiesel Bus Tour” of Laurie David and singer Cheryl Crow.

Laurie David is credited as the co-producer of Al Gore’s scientifically- challenged documentary "An Inconvenient Truth.” The man now re-branded as the “Goracle” of environmental issues.

Quoted in the Washington Post, Cheryl Crow opines that the world would be a better place if only…

“Crow (4/19,Springfield, Tenn.: I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming. Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating. One of my favorites is in the area of forest conservation which we heavily rely on for oxygen. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don't want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required.”

What can You do?

Carefully consider that most pronouncements of agenda-driven celebrities is often self-serving as they try to enhance their careers with “feel good” publicity. Now that the diseases are taken, they are turning to the environment.

It is bad enough that legislators told you that you needed to modify your toilets with low-flow models that needed to be flushed twice or low-flow showerheads which, for some of us, reduced the pleasure of a brisk shower…but you need to draw the line at any legislative attempt to regulate toilet paper. Do not elect “environmental” crazies whose half-baked ideas are often as stupid as they are impractical.

As for the celebrities, laugh out loud as they are, after all, paid to entertain you.

REAL LESSONS FROM THE APPRENTICE

Regardless of how you may feel about Donald Trump, his smug self-centered persona, his overbearing preachy presence, you can learn valuable lessons from the Apprentice. Among those are...

1.  Fortune favors those who already have the resources to either command or purchase grudging- respect and attract the best deals. Trump inherited a fortune from his father Fred. Not so much the money -- he could have earned that on his own -- but a work ethic and the way to succeed in a political/regulatory environment where "unspoken" considerations are often more binding than those on a contract. Trump's legendary eye for detail, ability to ferret our sub-standard workmanship and waste, would have served him well in any endeavor he chose to undertake. Viewing some of the earlier Trump performances suggests that the Trump persona has developed over the years to be consistent with the expectations of "his public." Which may be something a totally different from the "face" he presents to his development partners.

2.  Even if they appear to be a solitary shining star and guiding light, they don't do it alone. Mr. “Outside” often has a strong Mr. “Inside” to watch over day-to-day business. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Ross Perot and other billionaires have strong support systems. In Trump's case, he has the Trump Organization. In the case of the Apprentice, his award-winning producer, Mark Burnett, was already an established star before his association with Trump. In a very real sense, Burnett is the one extending his brand of "reality programming" by using Trump to front the venture. The true meaning of a win-win situation. Even if Burnett had chosen the legendary Jack Welch whose business expertise with General Electric is unparalleled, the program would not have been as "fun" as Welch's persona is one of serious businessman with a sense of humor -- as opposed to Trump's often over-the-top pronouncements.

3.  They often leverage their name offering to teach others the "secrets" of their success. Unfortunately, the luck, timing, skill set and asset base may be "one of a kind" attributes and not be transferable. Especially in a short seminar form. Hope, motivation and persistence, is the true "secret" of what they offer.

4.  Everything is viewed through the prism of brand. The Apprentice is one long commercial, replete with multi-level embedded product placements. In spite of the craziness, everything is done to enhance and burnish Trump’s image so he can attract more deals and demand a premium for his product.

5.  If there were was a major production fault, it was employing his children, Ivanka and Don, who followed seasoned executives, Carolyn Kepcher and George Ross, and in contrast, appeared too young and hesitant to carry off the task as Trump's foil. Their performance can be summed up as "Yes, Daddy!" Even though their educational and beginning work experience would qualify them as "junior executives," I felt that this was a nepotistic casting error.

What made the Apprentice bearable was the after-action reporting of Marjorie or Michael Carrino who host the popular podcast, the Armchair Apprentice. This often profane, no-holds bar re-cap after program airing presented additional viewpoints from two business professionals. They also host the Armchair Survivor. I recommend visiting their blog at http://apprentice.tubecasts.com where you can download their entertaining reviews.

Get off the couch and do your own thing.

A LIBERAL APPLICATION OF POETIC JUSTICE

While we do not wish to see our fellow citizens suffering, there is a certain amount of poetic justice in the accident that befell New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine. I really should reconsider the word "befell" as it seems that the Governor’s own actions were the proximate cause of the crash and that his severe and possibly life-threatening injuries, were caused by his own actions. Whether by arrogance, laziness, or stupidity, the Governor's failure to use a seat belt while riding in the front seat of a car, resulted in a laundry list of horrific injuries. According to published reports, the Governor broke his thigh bone in two places, a dozen ribs, his breastbone and collarbone and a lower vertebra. As this is written, he remains in critical condition and has just been removed from a ventilator to assist the heavily sedated man breathe easier. He has undergone a number of surgeries with more to come.

According to the official police report ( http://www.njsp.org/news/pr041707.html):

“On April 12, 2007, at approximately 5:30 pm, the Governor’s motorcade, made up of two 2005 Chevy Suburbans, departed Atlantic City en route to Drumthwacket via the Garden State Parkway. The Governor was traveling in the first vehicle, which was driven by Trooper Robert Rasinski. The vehicle’s emergency lights were activated to clear traffic ahead. Governor Corzine was unrestrained in the right front seat and his aide, Samantha Gordon, was unrestrained in the left rear seat. Trooper Rasinski was wearing his seatbelt.

As the motorcade progressed north on the Garden State Parkway into Galloway Township, Atlantic County, it traveled in the left of two northbound lanes and encountered two additional northbound vehicles.

The first, a white 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck, was operated by John M. Carrino, Jr. of Glenwood, New Jersey and occupied by Matthew Cameron who was seated to his right. His vehicle was in the left lane. In the right lane was a red 1991 Ford F150 pickup truck operated by Kenneth Potts of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey.

As the Governor’s detail approached the vehicles, both drivers moved to their right. Mr. Pott’s vehicle was slightly ahead of Mr. Carrino’s vehicle and moved to the right shoulder. At the same time, Mr. Carrino’s vehicle moved to the right lane, slightly behind Mr. Pott’s vehicle.

As the Governor’s vehicle approached Mr. Carrino’s vehicle, Mr. Potts encountered a roadway delineator (mile marker signpost) near the right edge of the roadway and moved left to avoid it.

Mr. Carrino observed Potts’ vehicle moving back toward the roadway and took evasive action to his left, during which time the left rear of his truck collided with the right front of the Governor’s vehicle.

This impact caused Trooper Rasinski to lose control and travel toward the wooded center median. Subsequent corrective steering to the right caused the Suburban to slide clockwise from the paved roadway and shoulder into the western grass berm. There it struck a milepost marker, and then impacted the end of the guide rail. The rail hit immediately behind the left front wheel and penetrated the vehicle’s body, continuing through the front seat floorboard area. The SUV abruptly rotated 180 degrees, before coming to rest with its back portion on top of the guide rail.”

And now the rest of the story...

It seems that the Governor did not want to be late for a major national press conference/photo opportunity regarding the meeting of disgraced shock jock Don Imus and those he outrageously described as "nappy-headed hos," the members of the Rutgers women’s basketball team. So he applied a little of "politician's privilege" and ordered his driver to use driving procedures which are normally reserved for emergency or security measures. There is no doubt that Corzine caused the crash. There is no doubt that Corzine used bad judgement in ordering the driver to proceed as if to an emergency. And there is no doubt that Corzine violated the state seat belt law ((NJS 39:3-76.2f) which requires each driver and front seat passenger of a passenger automobile, operated on a street or highway to wear a properly adjusted and fastened seat belt. Unfortunately, others were injured by his reckless disregard for both the law and proper emergency/security protocol.

What can YOU do?

MAKE SURE EVERYBODY IS WEARING THEIR SEATBELTS BEFORE YOU START YOUR VEHICLE!

Two, demand that all government employees and elected officials not use any driving procedure that requires special passage or high-speeds without a bona fide emergency or security concern. Being late to government meetings and/or press events should not qualify as an emergency.

And three, demand that the state department of motor vehicles, in conjunction with law enforcement, embark upon a series of public announcements regarding the appropriate procedures when a driver encounters an emergency vehicle on a congested road.

Here in California, it is only recently that the police have been using their lights and sirens while traveling on a freeway. When faced with a speeding vehicle with lights and sirens blaring, some people panic and simply turn to the right, thus endangering their fellow motorists. Some people simply speed up to get out of the way, hoping that they may pull to the right when traffic clears. In any event the public should be aware of proper emergency response driving tips and techniques.

IMESS IN THE MORNING: A PERFECT STORM

By now, everyone in the nation must know that Don Imus was fired from his television and radio jobs for offhandedly remarking that some members of the Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team. But nobody was prepared for the consequences when two prominent race-baiting agitators self-styled as "racial activists" and "community leaders" began a media campaign over stupid words that were simply indefensible. Don't get me wrong, I have listened to Imus and found him to be particularly annoying with his juvenile humor and crude jokes. However, there are also a number of other disk jockeys and commentators who utilize the same genre. And it certainly is not about pointing to a greater wrong as a defense of the proposition that "two wrongs don't make a right."

Rather it is about the hypocrisy of the media for tolerating "idiots" wherever they are found. It is about a media that turned out to cannibalistically eat their own while simultaneously claiming the moral highground.

To bring some perspective to this debate consider the following:

Imus appears to be a cranky and miserable 66-year old commentator who has built a personal fortune by his unrestrained and sophomoric humor;

Imus has attracted an audience with surprisingly high demographics and high commercial value; as most of them relive their earlier years. An audience which attracted many high-ranking politicians and personages to capitalize on the exposure to his audience; and

A man who may have listened to others and may have unconsciously or consciously tried to emulate today's hip, cool, rap-based street language.

Coming together with an offhand remark that did not even appear on anyone's radar screen until the activists initiated their self-aggrandizing promotional campaign. And now the hypocritical media and politicians have weighed in to do their best to capitalize on the situation.

I have no sympathy for this miserable person who was forced to apologize endlessly for a thoughtless remark. But I do care about the resulting hypocrisy and self-serving rhetoric which served no meaningful purpose and did not enrich one life.

What can YOU do?

Ignore the "chattering class." If you were offended, don't listen to this type of crap. And don't fall prey to the charlatans who want you to write letters and boycott sponsors. The charlatans did not force Imus off the air, his audience did not complain, his management backed him … until the sponsors got cold feet and pulled out. Then broadcast management relieved him of his duties. And when it all cools down, Imus, if he so chooses, will be back on their air (or possibly cable or satellite) older, a little wiser…and giving HIS audience what they want. In the end, all will be well as the marketplace has a self-correcting mechanism for righting its own wrongs.

CLINTON: SELLING (OUT?) THE UNITED STATES?

Clinton Says Husband Would Be Ambassador http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070421/D8OL8VO02.html

Speaking in Marshalltown, Iowa, Hillary Clinton, responding to a question about the role her husband, the former President of the United States, would play in her administration, reportedly replied, "she would appoint her husband as a roving ambassador to the world – using his skills to repair the nation's tattered image abroad."

What scares me is that the ex-President surely could have embarked on that path, like presidential gadfly Jimmy Carter, but chose to travel the world in search of personal profits… no that's not the scary part – it's the thought he could be selling parts of the United States or making "quid pro quo" deals with the specific intent of making his wife's administration look good.

Any search on the web will yield hundreds of reasons not to revisit an administration filled with "our people" and problematical positions. On the Clinton watch we found,

Whitewater, Cattlegate, Nannygate, Helicoptergate, Travelgate, Gennifer Flowersgate, Filegate, Vince Fostergate, I wonder where those Whitewater billing records came fromgate, Paula Jonesgate, Federal Building campaign phone callgate, Lincoln bedroomgate, White House coffeegate, Donations from convicted drug and weapons dealersgate, Buddhist Templegate, Web Hubbell hush moneygate, Lippogate, Chinese commiegate, Let's blame Kenneth Starrgate, Zippergate/interngate, Perjury and jobs for Lewinskygate, Willeygate, Web Hubbell prison phone callgate, Selling Military Technology to the Chinese Commiesgate, Coverup for our Russian Comrades as Wellgate, Wag-the-Dog-gate, Jaunita Broaddrick gate, PBS-gate, Email-gate, Vandalgate, Lootergate, Pardongate  as well as other involving Janet Reno's Justice Department and Ron Brown's Commerce Department.

While these examples came from an unofficial Republican web site (http://members.tripod.com/~GOPcapitalist/clinton-scandals.html), you are invited to do your own search and present your findings in the comments section.

While it can be said that "all administrations had their particular scandals," most of the above scandals cost the taxpayers millions of dollars and involved particularly nasty and venomous attacks on aggrieved individuals who may have commented or put forth a grievance. While portraying themselves as the "most ethical administration ever," a review of the reported facts proves something else.

What YOU can do?

Consider the record of the Clintons while in power. The scandals that absorbed the nation and often prevented the people's business from being done. Then, regardless of your party affiliation or non-affiliation, consider whether or not you want to embroil the United States in a future of politically-motivated conflict, confusion and chaos. Not to mention the possible continued subversion of governmental agencies like the Justice Department, IRS, FTC, EPA, and thousands of others, into agencies which color their official duties with the stench of politics. And yes, I would feel the same about another Bush in the White House.

Please folks, we need a politician; but a politician with character, integrity, fairness and ability. A person who will not polarize the populace while representing the United States, an individual with the highest regard for the Country's ideals. Someone who can bring honor and respect back into America. A person whose motives are not immediately suspect because of their political maneuvering. Someone who will not immediately polarize the nation and embolden the opposition to destroy the nation to prove how worthy they are to regain power. Vote for the best person – for this is the person who can immeasurably enrich our lives or plunge us into the depths of hell. No matter how you feel, make an informed choice and VOTE.

STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES

House Representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) introduced HR 1022, titled the "Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007," modeled after H.R. 1312 which was introduced by McCarthy in 2005.

In an on-camera interview with NBC's Tucker Carlson (available from YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ospNRk2uM3U) the Representative is repeatedly asked what is a "barrel shroud." Each time she replies with another talking point before taking a stab at the answer, "it's the shoulder thing that goes up." Which, of course is the wrong answer. If the representative knew anything about the legislation she introduced, the answer is clearly explained in the definition section…  and she had at least two years to learn about the legislation since her similar bill was introduced in 2005.

"` (36) Barrel Shroud- The term `barrel shroud' means a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel of a firearm so that the shroud protects the user of the firearm from heat generated by the barrel, but does not include a slide that encloses the barrel, and does not include an extension of the stock along the bottom of the barrel which does not encircle or substantially encircle the barrel."

As defined above, the barrel shroud is a safety feature. What these "know nothing" legislators are actually saying is that a barrel shroud makes a weapon look like one of those dreaded military assault weapons … and therefore should be part of the criteria for selecting which weapons to ban.

Why normal people (including most legislators) do not know what is contained in the legislation…

"SEC. 2. REINSTATEMENT FOR 10 YEARS OF REPEALED CRIMINAL PROVISIONS RELATING TO ASSAULT WEAPONS AND LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICES.

(a) Reinstatement of Provisions Wholly Repealed- Paragraphs (30) and (31) of section 921(a), subsections (v) and (w) and Appendix A of section 922, and the last 2 sentences of section 923(i) of title 18, United States Code, as in effect just before the repeal made by section 110105(2) of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, are hereby enacted into law.

(b) Reinstatement of Provisions Partially Repealed- Section 924 of title 18, United States Code, is amended--

(1) in subsection (a) (1), by striking subparagraph (B) and inserting the following:

` (B) knowingly violates subsection (a) (4), (f), (k), (r), (v), or (w) of section 922;'; and

(2) in subsection (c) (1) (B), by striking clause (i) and inserting the following:

` (i) is a short-barreled rifle, short-barreled shotgun, or semiautomatic assault weapon, the person shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 10 years; or'."

What can YOU do?

First, hold legislators who introduce new legislation to the simple standard of having to explain, in detail, what is in their legislation and why it is necessary in light of similar legislation. Ask questions and demand answers.

Second, demand legislation be fully complete and that references to existing legislation be illustrated by providing the changes in an easy to read format using "lined-through strikeout type" where words are omitted.

Third, do not re-elect "stupid," "evasive," "naive" or "corrupt" politicians.

Fourth, and most importantly, do not become so emotional over a criminal act, that you confuse the perpetrator with the means of performing the act. If you logically applied this to everyday situations, you would ban cars to prevent drunk drivers from intentionally or accidentally injuring or killing people.  Last time I looked, more people were injured or killed by drunks than guns. Maybe we should also ban alcohol while we are creating "feel good" legislation? Also note, reported deaths from gunshot wounds often include a large number of suicides.

And fifth, demand single issue bills which allow for adequate discussion and debate on the merits of the bill rather than the consideration of the pork payouts stuffed into today's legislation.

VICTORY: We've Already Won, What Now?

www.kansascity.com | 04/19/2007 | Reid offers bleak assessment of Iraq war.

“Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday the war in Iraq is "lost," triggering an angry backlash by Republicans, who said the top Democrat had turned his back on the troops.”

Reid then backtracked and added “but only if we follow the current Bush plan.”  — Nice save Harry — you still are a disgrace because your remarks traveled around the world giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Even if we understand you were speaking to your base constituents.

I am also upset that the President didn’t immediately call the Senator on his inappropriate remarks. Texas, notwithstanding, the President was born and bred as a patrician in the Northeast; believing that restraint and courtesy are virtues. Some claim that what we have here is an average President. However, to my way of thinking, that makes him either the worst of the best or the best of the worst. Time and history will tell.

In a way, we should be grateful to old Harry as he has illustrated one of the reasons America finds itself bogged down in an almost unsolvable problem. The problem is how one defines the word “victory” and what should happen when we achieve our objectives.

By most measures, the war in Iraq, in spite of the media and certain politicians has been a success and we have achieved victory already.

  • Victory was eliminating Saddam and his torture and rape rooms.
  • Victory was confirming that there were no weapons of mass destruction to be found.
  • Victory was creating an interim government and providing the opportunity for Iraq's citizens to vote for their own representation.
  • Victory was rebuilding key elements of the Iraqi infrastructure even though it remains under attack by insurgents.

Why should we linger about in the middle of a civil war with both sides (with reinforcements from neighboring countries) shooting at our troops?

What to do now?

First, we need to redefine the enemy to only include terrorists and others who might attack or materially interfere with United States interests anywhere in the world. The war on terror does not include a religious war between the Shias and Sunnis.

Second, we need to make it abundantly clear to the Iraq government, if they cannot muster the strength to contain the insurgents and keep the civil war from spreading, then they are on their own. Concurrently, we will not allow any foreign politician seeking asylum in any foreign state to remove any monies derived from looted United States aid funds.

Third, we need to warn neighboring sovereigns that we will protect our interests, even if it means the overthrow of the two-faced House of Saud or introducing the grand mullahs of Iran to the reformation of their religion.

Fourth, we need to go forth with new “rules of engagement.” One that explains that we will react with massive and overwhelming force regardless of civilian casualties or collateral damage. We will target not only those that perpetrate the attack, but those who fund and provide aid to those who perpetrate the attack. President Bush may have been politically incorrect, but he was right on target when he said, “You are either with us or against us.”

Fifth, we redefine “victory.” If we have problems with other sovereign nations, let’s take the battle to them directly so there is no doubt we mean to protect our interests.

Sixth, we re-constitute our intelligence capabilities, military capabilities, and train a new generation to special warfare operators. This includes supplying aid to interests that will effect change in their own countries.

And seventh, we stand by those who assisted our efforts. Including our only friends, the Kurds.

There is an eighth item, but that involves the openly anti-American United Nations which we should expel and allow them to move to Brussels.

What can YOU do?

Make it clear to your elected representatives that special interests representing those who are massively profiting from supplying support services and materials to the conflict will not be tolerated.

Make it clear to your elected representatives that are not to play politics while our soldiers and support personnel are at risk.

Make it clear to your elected representatives that American’s are now longer going to provide “blank checks” to finance any program without clear and compelling reasons.

Make it clear to everyone, that you will not donate to any cause that denigrates the greatness of American for their own petty purposes — including political parties.

Setting Up The Next Mass Murder: What is Going On?

There is no doubt that the tragic events at Virginia Tech are newsworthy. But are we, collectively as a society, setting ourselves up for an even greater tragedy?

Consider that the murderer paused after the first set of killings to mail a media package to NBC. Complete with video, audio and other materials.

Consider that the murderer referred to the perpetrators in the Columbine shooting.

And consider that the murder may have been crazy, but he was not stupid as he went about achieving the result he wanted: overwhelming and massive recognition of himself and his views.

Add the self-serving politicians, including the President who ordered flags to be flown at half-mast, and the wall-to-wall 24–hour media coverage to memorialize the event and the perpetrator

… and you have established a benchmark for the next crazy who wants to do it bigger and better. Achieve another record as the largest mass murder in the United States.

While we have enough problems with terrorists, we do not have to manufacture our own catastrophes.

What should have been done? While hindsight is always 20–20, it remains that there are a number of common sense solutions to dealing with a domestic problem of this nature.

One, if any materials were released to the media, they should be immediately embargoed and held for law enforcement as the wide dissemination of these materials may put others in immediate jeopardy.

Two, pending clearance from the authorities, the media that received the material should be given first rights to publish or broadcast selected excerpts for a defined period of time. Other media outlets would then be allowed to participate, as they do now, in mutual feeds. The materials can be then archived on web sites for review by those interested… which avoids an “in your face” forced presentation in front of others who may lack coping skills. (I am thinking Rosie O’Donnell here)

Three, heavy rotations of the material or wall-to-wall coverage should be discouraged by the media themselves; even though the material will attract an audience and drive ratings, viewership and readership.

Four, the focus of the story should be on the victims and the aftermath of their experience. Attention to the perpetrator should be minimized lest it attract “copycat” perpetrators. We may not remember the names of the killers, but we remember Adam Walsh, Jessica Lunsford and other victims.

Five, politicians and community leaders should show restraint in introducing “emergency” legislation or otherwise promoting their own interests on the back of the victims.

Six, if there is any followup coverage, let it be after a memorial ceremony where those that want to use the media can speechify and do what politicians do best: bloviate.

And seventh, relating to my pet peeve, the media should refrain from using experts to psychologically analyze the perpetrator, comment on their handwriting, and body language. We all knew the person or persons were unbalanced, but to add rank speculation as to the presence of medical maladies or aberrant psychological behaviors is never helpful — unless you are struggling to fill air time.

What can YOU do?  Be informed and get the facts in any manner that you desire. And then turn away from the media, hug your own loved ones and go about your daily business. Adverse events happen everywhere in the world and on a 24/7 basis. Celebrate your safety.

WHY "THEY" DON'T GET IT

Pick any social issue or legislative matter and you will find wealthy elitists, celebrities and politicians demanding immediate action that will affect the citizens of the United States.

Many of these people are self-absorbed, self-righteous, intellectually lazy (nice words for stupid), and of the opinion that they actually know what is best for everyone else.

These are the same so-called “creative people” who read other people’s words and pretend to be something they are not. Playing a villain in a movie does not convey a psychiatric understanding of a sociopath any more than playing a hero endows them with heroic abilities.

So why don’t these people get it?

The answer is simple. High-level politicians and bureaucrats are provided with security, sometimes on a 24/7 basis. The wealthy live behind protective gates and hire their own bodyguards. The legislators often exempt themselves from the very legislation that they pass off on the rest of us. And everybody has personal assistants to take care of pesky details.

I, for one, do not want a singer to formulate national policy, even if they allegedly may have slept with the highest power in the land. I do not want an actor to control pharmaceutical drug legislation because of his religious training. And, I certainly do not want legislators to craft legislation to confer special advantages on their friends and benefactors (wait, that’s another post).

What can YOU do?  Enjoy these people for the entertainment that they provide, but do not necessarily believe that their talent extends to areas beyond their expertise. Demand your politicians and bureaucrats prove that there protection is contingent on a credible threat beyond which the ordinary citizen might face on a daily basis. And those endorsers of any position make their case with logic and proof rather than a smile and a song.

JUSTICE OR... JUST US?

If you are anything like me, you are sick and tired of hearing two aging con men represent themselves as racial activists and the arbiter of what is appropriate behavior.

These people will drop everything, fly anywhere, and say anything to get before the media. By commanding the attention of the press, they seem to add a certain amount of legitimacy to their often outrageous actions.

To what end: neither of these charlatans has a job and their income seems to arise from their foundations and other programs which receive donations from scared executives and others fearful that they might be branded a “racist” if they do not somehow “contribute to the case.”

Their actions in the past are so outrageous, so hurtful and so completely “off-the-wall,” that I can’t even bring myself to mention their names.

And yet, politicians of every stripe are busily seeking their approval, and hopefully, their endorsement .. as if the majority of the black community actually considers these bozos to be their “official spokesmen.”

At a time when black youth are at risk from gang and drug activity, the overwhelming illegitimacy rate within the community, the preponderance of single-parent families, men who father multiple children with multiple wives and then do not provide support for their children, the lack of jobs within the community, illegal aliens usurping jobs which would have normally been filled by community members, these hypocrites attack a white disk jockey for saying something stupidly offensive while, at the same time, ignoring black rappers who have spouted this same negative, demeaning trash for years. Somehow in their world, record company contracts worth millions of dollars must make these offensive utterances, “social commentary.”

While it is amazing to me, is that a community that often revolves around its church leaders, would allow these two reprobates to claim community leadership.

What can YOU do?  Ignore them. Shun them. And if they threaten you with name calling, sue them. And if they threaten to picket if you do not contribute, march down to the local district attorney and request they be charged with extortion. Support all communities and their legitimate leaders.

Consider the fact that, in the face of a natural disaster, everybody regardless of their religion, color, race, creed almost always steps up and pulls together. Now if we could only generate that same level of cooperation and support, the world would certainly be a better place.
