There is little doubt in my mind that Colin Kaepernick may be a clear and present danger to the Black community…
Not only does he continue to fuel the false meme of victimhood, but he also does a great disservice to the law-abiding citizens of the community. In spite of his lofty words, he is a self-serving “hater.” He hates law enforcement. He denigrates law enforcement. And, in a community that almost always refuses to cooperate with law enforcement even when they are being slaughtered by their own minority gangs, he somehow wants to blame the police for protecting themselves and the community.
The truth is that Kaepernick should study crime statistics and then mount a campaign that demonstrates how not to get shot during a police encounter…
One, do not run from the police and then suddenly stop and turn around.
Two, do not approach a police officer. Stand still until you are ordered to move.
Three, immediately drop anything in your hands and keep your hands in plain sight at all times.
Four, follow commands.
Five, do not protest. There will be time to explain your actions during the proceedings.
Six, if you believe you were subject to excessive force, engage an attorney, file a complaint, and then notify the news media – but do not resist.
Seven, know the rules of engagement. If you point anything toward a police officer, the gesture might be fatal. If you close to within 7 yards (21-feet) of a police officer without permission, you are in the officer’s danger zone. If you grapple with an officer or touch his gun, you are presumed to have the “intent to kill” which can result in your death.
Yes, these are not pleasant things to think about, but they are generally true for all people. And, about that profiling “thing,” as long as a disproportionate number of serious crimes are committed by a small segment of the community – and outweigh that segment’s representation in the general population, you are at an increased risk of an adverse encounter. Commonsense tells us that an unkempt Black male between eighteen and thirty-four years of age or a tatted-up minority will be treated differently than a White blond teenager. This is a fact of life, and it is based, not on the color of one’s skin or race, but on the probability that this person might be potentially more dangerous than an ordinary citizen under similar circumstances. It's not racial; it is probably based on experience.
If you weed out criminals who have just committed a criminal act, felons in possession of a gun, individuals on drugs, large and belligerent individuals resisting arrest or fleeing police custody, all you have a far and few between accidental shootings – some within policy and some clearly out of policy where the law enforcement official should be prosecuted for their actions, be it excessive force or adjudicated to be murder. Given the number of police encounters, this is not an epidemic and not institutionalized racial animosity.
If what the progressive socialist democrats said about institutionalized racism were true, you would expect the prosecutors, judge, and jury to be similarly racist although there are many black officers and high-ranking officials in the system. It is not about the collectivism and blaming society, it is about individualism and holding an individual accountable for their actions.
And, about Kaepernick being some outstanding and courageous icon…
Once again the progressive socialist democrats are infiltrating sport – much as they have our other institutions – and will result in the same effects, the breakdown of societal norms to bring about a revolution that will see the socialists assume power. Face it; socialism taken to its logical extreme is totalitarianism while capitalism taken to its extreme is more capitalism, more freedom, and more benefit to society.
Kaepernick is a tool. To the degree he is being supported by the mainstream media, one would think that he is Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner after winning the decathlon.
We are so screwed when we allow freaks and misfits be elevated to cultural icons when the real icons are those who do risk everything for their nation, community, family and fellow man.
