There is not doubt in my mind that the two greatest dangers to the progressive socialist democrats and the progressive mainstream media are an open and free internet and a somewhat unregulated cable news operation – followed closely by talk radio.
Free speech and a free press represent a clear and present danger to the progressives who lie with impunity. From the President of the United States to his cadre of progressive socialist democrats, they do not fear the consequences of lying to the American people because the progressive mainstream media has their back. And, they need political cover for their lies in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election.
So how best to exert control over a free and open internet?
- Assert governmental authority to control the internet on behalf of the collective people.
- Assert that the children must be protected from pornography and predators.
- Assert that minorities must be protected from hate speech.
- Assert that voters must not be disenfranchised and that political speech must be regulated by the Federal Elections Commission
- Pay off those special interests who might object by providing mini-monopolies and allow the consumers to be deceived by design – making commoditized information packets part of complex tariff and tax arrangements.
The essence of network neutrality … all data packets, whether representing text, audio, video or any other data, should be treated equally without interference and/or preference. Internet service providers should not be allowed to upcharge videos and other entertainment content based on the content price or special deals with the carriers.
Critical questions for critical thinkers …
So in the “most open, honest, and ethical administration,” how is it that the 332-page government plan will not be released to the public prior to a vote by the Federal Communications Commission?
How does FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler, one of the most fabled lobbyists for the cable industry, manage to avoid charges of gross “conflict of interest” considering he is likely to return to the very same industry in two years?
Thomas Edgar Wheeler is the current Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. He was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in November 2013.
Prior to working at the FCC, Wheeler worked as a venture capitalist and lobbyist for the cable and wireless industry, with positions including President of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) and CEO of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA).
In recognition of his work in promoting the wireless industry, Wheeler was inducted into the Wireless Hall of Fame in 2003, and in 2009, as a result of his work in promoting the growth and prosperity of the cable television industry and its stakeholders, was inducted into the Cable Television Hall of Fame. He is the only member of both halls of fame. <Source>
Why is nobody challenging the government’s need to oversee, govern, and manage an internet that is working at an affordable cost? Like our national healthcare system before the progressive socialist democrats openly lied and provided a scheme that decimated most of the healthcare in America?
One FCC Commissioner, Ajit Pai, speaks out …
“President Obama’s plan marks a monumental shift toward government control of the Internet. It gives the FCC the power to micromanage virtually every aspect of how the Internet works.”
“The plan explicitly opens the door to billions of dollars in new taxes on broadband… These new taxes will mean higher prices for consumers and more hidden fees that they have to pay.”
“The plan saddles small, independent businesses and entrepreneurs with heavy-handed regulations that will push them out of the market.”
“As a result, Americans will have fewer broadband choices. This is no accident. Title II was designed to regulate a monopoly. If we impose that model on a vibrant broadband marketplace, a highly regulated monopoly is what we’ll get.”
Bottom line …
President Obama and his cadre of progressive socialist and communist democrats now represent another clear and present danger to America, Americans, and the fabric of our society.
When will the Congress step forward and impeach and/or imprison those who subvert the Constitution and the rule of law to fundamentally transform our nation on behalf of its enemies, both foreign and domestic?
We are approaching a tipping point where political power grabs and special interest corruption is damaging our nation beyond repair; possibly provoking a revolution between the political class and those who believe in freedom, liberty, and self-governance.
And the bad news is that the GOP is only slightly less corrupt that the progressive socialist democrats – although they do not apologize for America, past or present, and are willing to stand up to our enemies when provoked.
We are so screwed.
