Unfortunately, not everybody that is supporting non-profit causes knows that their money is being channeled to for-profit enterprises that manage mailing lists, create mailing pieces, or otherwise engage in the business of advertising the cause. As I see it, the problem is when the vendors of computer services, print and mailing shops, and sellers of other services create their own charities or cause-based groups that simply channel donations into their own pockets.

When it comes to Second Amendment issues, your money is best spent with the National Rifle Association, your state’s rifle or pistol association, or your local gun club. That way you can avoid diluting the influence your money may purchase and you have the peace of mind knowing that the organization actually is an effective lobbyist for all Second Amendment and gun-rights issues.
