The nation is currently struggling through the aftermath from the trial of George Zimmerman, portrayed by the progressives as a racist who targeted an innocent black youth and willfully shot him to death. A narrative driven mostly by race-hustlers like Al Sharpton to promote his personal, political, and profitable agenda and a corrupt mainstream media with an audience to attract.
So, one might ask, why are so many blacks outraged over the killing of Trayvon Martin than they are of the four black youngsters who died in Chicago during the duration of the Zimmerman trial? Although the evidence presented painted a picture of Trayvon as a wannabe gangsta who was hardly the innocent teen portrayed, what of these young, innocent victims?
According to the Chicago Sun Time’s “Homicide Watch Chicago” ...
On June 28, five-year-old Sterling Sims was killed in a double murder that also claimed the life of his mother, 31-year-old Chavonne Brown. Both were shot in their apartment, and police believe the motive was robbery.
On July 1, 16-year-old Antonio Fenner was gunned down on the sidewalk next to the body of a 32-year-old man who had gang ties. No arrests were made, and no suspects have been named. Fenner’s mother believes her son was in the wrong place at the wrong time, because no one in her family knew the other victim or what Fenner’s association was to him.
On July 3, 14-year-old Damani Henard was murdered outside a high school. His body was found next to a bicycle.
On July 9, 15-year-old Ed Cooper was shot and killed while spending time with friends at the park. A gunman got out of a black van and began firing as the boys ran away. Cooper was shot in the street and continued running to a vacant lot where he died.
Vicarious trauma -- secondary traumatic stress disorder?
Are black individuals suffering from a mental illness similar to post traumatic stress disorder, producing symptoms of increased stress and a tolerance of violence or proclivity for violent behavior, because of the continual political interference in their lives by politicians who tell them that they come from an historically disadvantaged groups and are worthy of the affirmative action and reparations which they never seem to realize? What is the total effect on the self-esteem of individuals who are constantly being told and taught that they suffer from cultural disadvantages and that it is perfectly acceptable to engage in sub-par behaviors or performance?
But, more importantly, what is the cumulative affect on children living in a world of political correctness; knowing they can be shot dead at any moment of their innocent young lives – just for walking down a street. In the case of 16-year-old Antonio Fenner, 14-year-old Damani Henard, and 15-year-old Ed Cooper, this was literally true. There is no evidence that they were doing anything other than living their lives. Talk about stressful. Talk about learning that violence is a normal facet of everyday life.
But, then comes the race-hustlers like Al Sharpton, who promote the false picture that an innocent youth was gunned down by a malicious white man for no reason. Never mentioning that the white man was actually an Hispanic, that the victim was engaging in a suspicious behavior by walking slowly between homes on a dark and rainy night, and that the victim may have provoked the tragic physical confrontation that cost him his life. But beyond Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, what is the affect of 24/7 coverage of this politically-motivated meme on the youth of America? Coverage that would have not happened if George was called Jorge, and Sharpton didn’t see an opportunity to self-promote his brand of racism.
Bottom line …
I am not a psychologist, but I am smart enough to know that anyone who is given the impression that they are not as good as others and require special treatment is bound to have self-esteem issues. Issues that may cause individuals to take refuge in a non-productive culture of strange names, strange dress, unconventional language, and the belief that they are disadvantaged and owed a debt by society. Issues that may cause individuals to assume that violence, crime, poverty, poor education, are the norm for their “community.” Something that is exploited by politicians who promise change, but do little more than talk endlessly about individual disadvantages in society. Never demanding that these individuals improve their behavior and performance above the norm. Striving for excellence.
And, unfortunately, the disadvantage meme appears to be self-inflicted as their peers denigrate superior performance as being part of the “white man’s world.” As if they are separate and apart from society. Increasingly isolated from traditional America where individualism and achievement is the norm – or should I say, was the norm. These are people caught in a downward spiral of despair and dysfunction as they are increasingly exploited for political advantage by their peers and so-called leaders.
It is time to sanction the race-baiters like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and others who promote victimhood and destroy any possibility for a healthy society. It’s time to remove the racists in Congress like the Congressional Black Caucus and people who see everything through the prism of race like Maxine Waters.
In fact, it is time to point out that the democrat party is associated with historical and toxic socialism, racism, and the exploitation of victims than any other political party.
But, in the final analysis, it is up to you to take action.
