It has long been a policy of political movements to bring about change by subverting the nation’s youth – in many cases by infiltrating the educational establishment and putting forth a biased curriculum based on revisionist history, fuzzy logic and amorphous concepts like political correctness, moral equivalency and the creation of victim classes which demands political activism to redress.
Many children today hold beliefs which are untrue but have been inculcated since their younger years. A time when knowledge, experience and logic are ceded to the authority, age and relative wisdom of one’s teachers.
Consider this example of an unwarranted intrusion into the lives and psyche of children; children who may already be fearful of an Earth-shattering calamity and separation from their parents and friends.
London’s Telegraph is reporting …
“Government rebuked over global warming nursery rhyme adverts”
“Two nursery rhyme adverts commissioned by the Government to raise awareness of climate change have been banned for overstating the risks.”
“The Advertising Standards Authority ruled that the adverts – which were based on the children's poems Jack and Jill and Rub-A-Dub-Dub – made exaggerated claims about the threat to Britain from global warming.”
“In definitely asserting that climate change would cause flooding and drought the adverts went beyond mainstream scientific consensus, the watchdog said.”
But Al Gore and others have said that the science was settled and that there was a consensus among scientists based on the peer-reviewed literature. Gore and the IPCC received a Nobel Peace Prize for their work in transforming public policy to save the planet. Of course, Barack Obama received the same Nobel Peace Prize for doing absolutely nothing! How effing appropriate?
“It noted that predictions about the potential global impact of global warming made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) ‘involved uncertainties’ that the adverts failed to reflect.”
Uncertainties is a polite way to describe the out-and-out fraud that is being perpetrated on the nations of this world by scientists who have cherry-picked and manipulated the data to produce pre-ordained results which tend to support their hypothesis. Yes, even at this stage of the game, man-influenced global warming is still a hypothesis; a hypothesis which is unsupported by physical observation and exists only in the silicon chips of computers. Computer models with unproven assumptions, highly-manipulated data and which fail to account for what we are really observing in nature.
Oh, and did I mention that a group of British scientists operating at the Climate Research Center in East Anglia University appeared to have subverted the peer-review process in their own discipline. Not to mention hiding, destroying and manipulating climate data.
“The two posters created on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change juxtaposed adapted extracts from the nursery rhymes with prose warnings about the dangers of global warning.”
Jack and Jill: how so politically incorrect – how do they know it wasn’t Jack and Jack or Jill and Jill who went up the hill?
“One began: ‘Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. There was none as extreme weather due to climate change had caused a drought.’ Beneath was written: ‘Extreme weather conditions such as flooding, heat waves and storms will become more frequent and intense.’”
What a cock-up as the Brits are wont to say. Any competent meteorologist can tell you that our day-to-day weather is more influenced by a combination of the Sun’s output, water vapor in the atmosphere, the ocean’s currents and the prevailing winds. For those who want to research this little matter on their own, I suggest that they check ENSO ( El Niño-Southern Oscillation) for its association with floods, droughts and other weather disturbances in many regions of the world, which vary with each event. For the Brits, a little research on NAO (North Atlantic Oscillation) might serve as a handy reference.
“The second advert read: ‘Rub a dub dub, three men in a tub — a necessary course of action due to flash flooding caused by climate change.’ It was captioned: ‘Climate change is happening. Temperature and sea levels are rising. Extreme weather events such as storms, floods and heat waves will become more frequent and intense. If we carry on at this rate, life in 25 years could be very different.’”
Now that’s more like liberals: celebrating a deviant sexual behavior and explaining global warming. Perhaps the advert could have quoted the IPCC on how the Himalayan glaciers could melt away by 2035. Fortunately, it’s not true. They knew it was not true, but published it anyway to capture the media’s attention and to promote their self-serving public policy agenda. Of course, the information came from a single scientist who did not mention any particular year. The work was not peer-reviewed and was placed in the report, ostensibly at the request of an environmental activist group.
“Upholding complaints from members of the public, the ASA said that in both instances the text accompanying the rhymes should have been couched in softer language.”
Perhaps the ASA was worried that these politically-correct morality messages would scare the bejesus out of the children rather than subtly embedding themselves in their mind as another truth learned at school.
“The newspaper adverts were part of a controversial media campaign launched by the DECC last year which attracted a total of 939 complaints.”
What should we think about politicians who allow children to be pawns in an adult battle to push their toxic and self-serving political agendas?
Watchdog my bloody arse …
‘The watchdog found that the other elements of the campaign, including a television and cinema advert in which a father read his daughter a nightmarish bedtime story about a world blighted by climate change, did not breach its guidelines.”
This is no watchdog agency, but a branch of the government which seems hell-bent on subverting the existing social order to bring about transformative change. In other worlds, a realignment of power brokers and wealth redistribution on a scale heretofore unimaginable in the history of the world.
Vindicated?
“Ed Miliband, the Environment Secretary, said that that his department had been ‘comprehensively vindicated’ by the ASA but promised to better reflect scientific uncertainty about global warming in future campaigns.”
There was no vindication – only exposure of an insidious plot to destroy existing society and replace it with a socialist new order. Mealy-mouthed politicians like Ed Miliband will have to account for their actions at some point in the near future. But who is going to deal with a decade of children who fear nature and whose minds have been corrupted by manipulated children’s fairy tales, fables and rhymes?
