It’s been a little while since we heard from Frank Bell, an ordinary citizen with a clear view of politics in Washington and common-sense reasons why he is troubled by the actions of our politicians. We are pleased to present Frank’s latest message on healthcare.
The “Government Knows Best Agenda” …
|
Despite all the talk about bipartisanship, the smoke-and-mirror rhetoric and the bogus health care summit, President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are working overtime to advance their “Government Knows Best” agenda. And, they’re moving full steam ahead with their dubious scheme to pass what they view as the ultimate prize – a government takeover of one-sixth of our nation’s economy. In fact, according to the Associate Press, "Barack Obama says he will persuade Congress to pass his health care overhaul even if it kills him."
Obama cannot be trusted with a Healthcare entitlement that is already estimated to be 30% of the Federal budget. Obama lied in a recent speech saying his scheme would save $1 Trillion "over the next decade." The CBO however estimated the bill would save $132 billion from 2010 to 2019, leaving Obama's "next decade" estimate $868 billion short. The budget office also said "A detailed year-by-year projection for years beyond 2019 ... would not be meaningful, because the uncertainties involved are simply too great." Nancy Pelosi may not have the votes to pass the healthcare bill through the House. So, Obama is telling the Blue Dogs that he is prepared to sacrifice them in order to get ObamaCare. Will you cave in and throw away your chances in November? Perhaps just as disturbing as their continued push to advance legislation that the American people do not want is the process by which they are choosing to do so. The plan to ram ObamaCare through using so-called “reconciliation” is downright offensive. The recent elections in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia should have sent a very clear message that the American people are sick and tired of the back-room deals and legislative shenanigans. Yet, the President and Congressional Leadership have chosen to ignore that message and move forward with yet more of the same underhanded tactics. There's been much talk about "reconciliation" but candidly, it's overrated and perhaps even a red herring. Here's why. The president will sign the original Senate bill, HR3590, into law immediately following House passage. That means BEFORE the Senate takes up reconciliation. A ruling last week from the Senate parliamentarian requires that to be the sequence. So by the time the Senate is debating reconciliation, they will be tweaking a disastrous bill that is already law. Moreover, it’s becoming increasingly clear that this entire exercise to push ObamaCare was never about making health care more affordable and accessible to everyday Americans. If that were the goal, it would have been done already. According to some estimates, eradicating taxes on health care would conceivably reduce the cost by 25-30% immediately. And, meaningful tort reform to end the practice of defensive medicine and permitting the American people to shop across state lines would lower the cost even more. Yet, none of those common-sense provisions have been seriously considered. Democrats are attacking anybody that dares to stop Obama's extreme quest to destroy healthcare in America. Rejecting sensible ideas, not starting over, feeding on the members of their own party and when all else fails Obama, Pelosi and Reid have become true dictators as they lie, cheat and deal. Obama is defying the public to ram ObamaCare into law at any cost betraying America and this is not the change we are looking for. Sincerely, Frank Bell, CFM, RPA, FMA |
Once again we owe thanks to Frank Bell for bringing common sense and clarity to a most distressing issue.
Bottom line …
If Obama’s health care bill really did what it claimed, reduced costs and expanded coverage, there would be absolutely no need for democrats to bribe others in their own party to secure passage of this political travesty and assault on our Constitution. The people would be more supportive and the Republicans would be grabbing for their share of the glory.
But truth-be-told, this is a bill that very few understand, even fewer have totally read and the major powers and provisions of this bill are not included in the bill itself – that power is ceded to the Administration by allowing the Secretary of Health and Human Services to make the rules necessary to implement the bills; as well as punish those who do not go along with the program.
Punishing the 85% of the people who have healthcare to cover the 15% who do not…
Listen to what Congressman Rogers’ has to say. Consider what Frank Bell is saying. And then tell your representative that there will be serious consequences if they vote to pass this outrageous power grab by the far-left radical activists who have taken control of our country.
