Once again, Hillary Clinton has revealed her socialistic far-left leanings. This time by expressing great regret that the United States is not a member of the International Criminal Court.
As Secretary of State, with access to highly-classified intelligence briefings, I wonder if she has noticed that the great majority of the nations in this world do not look kindly on the United States. And if it was not for the billions of dollars of taxpayer money doled out to the so-called “international community” or our strength as a trading partner – they would be as openly dismissive of our politicians, politics and positions as Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and other “enlightened” leaders. Or should I say human-rights suppressing dictators?
Would you give up U.S. Citizenship to live in any of these countries?

Ceding our sovereignty …
| The Rome Statute obliges States Parties to cooperate with the court in the investigation and prosecution of crimes, including the arrest and surrender of suspects. |
Of course there is an exception, “Under the Rome Statute's complementarity principle, the court only has jurisdiction over cases where the relevant State is unwilling or unable to investigate and, if appropriate, prosecute the case itself.”
Hillary, speaking from Nairobi, Kenya …
As reported by the Associated Press …
“U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says it is a ‘great regret’ that the United States is not a member of the International Criminal Court.”
“The court is the first permanent institution authorized to try individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes when national courts are unable or unwilling to do so.”
“The U.S. formally rejected U.S. participation in May 2002. A main concern was that American servicemen hunting down terrorists abroad might not be safe from politically motivated prosecutions.”
Clinton said it is ‘a great regret but it is a fact that we are not yet a signatory. But we have supported the court and continue to do so.’"
Just imagine …
The United States did not ratify the treaty for fear of politically-motivated prosecutions. How ironic – as that is exactly what the far-left democrats tried to do to former President George Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld. Try them for “war crimes.” And, since the powers that be refused to take action in the Congress, should the U.S. been a signatory to the International Criminal Court, the Court would have been empowered to investigate and prosecute President Bush, Vice President Cheney and others in the CIA and military – with the U.S. being obliged to surrender American citizens to a court of foreign jurisdiction.
Think I am kidding, see for yourself …
The International Red Cross, at least to me, is just another far-left radical institution that is afraid to confront the real terrors in the world and openly defy dictators on their home ground. Only where states have a measure of “freedom of speech” will they stand up to condemn others.
The radical far-left activists in the Court of Public Opinion …
Prominent left-wing activists tried to bring a mock-trial of President Bush for the purposed of capturing media attention.

The Commission will inquire into the following charges: Count 1: The Bush administration authorized a war of aggression against Iraq. Count 2: The Bush administrations authorized conduct of the war that involved the commission of “war crimes.” Count 3: The Bush administration authorized the occupation of Iraq involving, and continuing to involve, the commission of “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity” and other illegal acts. <The rest of the charges can be found here> |
Who are some of these loons?
| Here are some of the people who have openly signed on to the “Not In Our Name statement of conscience” F. Murray Abraham |
Whether the above people are tools or fools is for you to decide. Many of these people seem to believe that socialism and communism is somehow superior to capitalism and freedom. Many openly cavort with and support dictators who have openly oppressed their own people’s human rights. One person on this list, Jane Fonda, I consider to be a traitor who offered aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war. Convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal should have been put to death long ago – had it not been for the intervention of radical-chic actor/activists who never met a radical or criminal that they did not embrace.
Bottom line …
The poorest, most oppressed person to be found in the United States has more material goods and freedom than most of the world’s citizens. America is a country where people risk their lives to get in, rather than get out. I cannot imagine what angst, guilt, self-loathing the so-called “enlightened” activists must feel or the depth of corruption and complacency which would allow them to place their name against that of the United States of America.
When people such as those listed above support a political cause or a political party, you can almost be 100% sure that the cause is suspect; another evildoer on the global stage or that the person is acting out of politically-correct self-interest.
Perhaps it is true that people who spend so much time playing other people, speaking words crafted and polished by talented writers, getting to rehearse their thoughts over and over until they sound dramatically sincere and have the innate ability of a professional stone-cold liar, eventually lose all sense of self and must turn to external ideas and events to sound relevant and connected to today’s world.
In essence, they become liberal democrats in the image of President Barack Obama.
Be well, be safe and take care of yourself and your family first. And don’t drink the political Kool-Aid.
