Public policy based on computerized population models …
First it was cooking the numbers on the population control debate … making public policy decisions on an ideological basis – all on a linear growth pattern that failed to materialize. It seems that the United Nations failed to observe the first rule of natural science: the Earth’s ecosphere appears to be both self-regulating and self-limiting. That is, most populations were limited by the available resources such as water, food, safe shelter and trade/commerce. A gravity feed flow model which located populations in more advantageous areas rather than less advantageous areas. Something observed since the beginning of life on this earth.
Public policy based on sloppy definitions and computerized HIV/AIDs transmissibility models …
Then it was the HIV/AIDs numbers which appeared to be cooked. It seems that instead of actually confirming the existence of HIV/AIDS with those costly blood tests, the UN researchers, if you can call those with a political agenda researchers, decided to redefine the HIV/AIDs population to include those who exhibited a fever, weight loss and other symptoms commonly linked to malnutrition and other disease vectors. With the UN eventually admitting that they did this to generate public support and secure funding for their own initiatives. In some instances, political correctness led to United Nations efforts to convince the public that the threat of a heterosexual was about to reach pandemic proportions while the actual numbers indicated that the most vulnerable population consisted of promiscuous gay males.
Public policy based on a “big lie” and computerized weather models …
Is it any wonder that the United Nations is again using computer models to predict dire consequences of natural weather patterns to gin up support for a radical political ideology and involving trillions of dollars? All based on the assumption, yes it is a speculative assumption, that carbon dioxide is driving climate change. Even though the rise in carbon dioxide lags the rise in temperature by 600 – 1000 years which eliminates carbon dioxide as a causal factor in global warming. And even though there is a simple explanation involving the warming of the oceans; much in the same manner that a cold beer gives off carbon dioxide to the atmosphere as it is warmed. The reason for choosing carbon dioxide is simple. By designating this life-sustaining gas as a pollutant or substance to be regulated, the political entities have a method to control all energy production and usage on the planet – thus being able to control every facet of the lives of those who live in energy-dependent countries.
And now: more public policy based on incorrect data derived from sloppy estimates …
As reported in the Los Angeles Times …
“WHO's advice: Just assume it's swine flu: The World Health Organization will recommend that nations curtail efforts to confirm swine flu cases and assume the H1N1 virus is the culprit.”
“As the World Health Organization prepares to recommend that most countries assume that their flu cases are the result of the novel H1N1 swine flu virus, officials are seeing the first signs of resistance to the commonly used antiviral drug Tamiflu -- though so far none that are particularly disturbing.”
Inflating the “swine” flu numbers with more ordinary and routine cold and flu statistics …
“Within the next few days, the WHO will suggest that countries with major outbreaks of swine flu move away from laboratory confirmation of cases and toward larger, national indicators of disease, such as the number of people with flu-like symptoms and cases of pneumonia, Dr. Keiji Fukuda, WHO assistant director-general, said Tuesday in a telephone news conference.”
This most definitely would inflate the swine flu numbers by allowing the inclusion of those who present with common colds and ordinary (if there is such a thing) seasonal flu symptoms. The benefit for the United Nations is simple: larger numbers translated into more public awareness and greater funding.
Following the money …
The old prescription of determining the truth by following the trail of money seems to ring true in this case.
“The continued spread of the virus to developing countries will severely tax the United Nations, which will need more than $1 billion this year alone to combat the pandemic, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Monday.
He said the agency has not been receiving as much money for the pandemic as it had hoped.”
Making Rahm Emanuel look like a piker …
The United Nations easily trumps Rahm Emanuel’s political prescription of “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste” by generating faux problems and crisis events to attract media attention and funding.
The problem is that the special interests have also hopped on the bandwagon; seeing that billions of dollars can be transferred from the public coffers to private interests and individuals by playing along and supporting the government efforts to enlarge government, raise taxes and lessen personal freedoms. In many cases, these people believe themselves to be part of an elite class that is above the law and the rest of those who need to eke out a daily living. A group that is well-insulated by their wealth, power and position from the consequences of their actions.
What does the United Nations actually do?
The United Nations appears to have become a self-sustaining and self-protective parasitic organization that needs continual funding to allow them to play politics on a global scale. Many of the headquarters’ staff are corrupt, incompetent or have personal and political agendas that go far beyond humanitarian assistance and the resolution of member’s conflicts. The entire organization has become ineffective and impotent in performing its primary missions and those nations footing the major portion of the bill should recognize that the United Nations has devolved into another corrupt bureaucracy and a drain on our national resources.
In the final analysis, if this pattern of corruption is allowed to continue, there will be a one-world government of the corrupt, by the corrupt and for the corrupt.
