Why everyone pussyfoots around the fact that the Islamic faith is intolerant of non-believers and, while still willing to take money from unbelievers, openly curtails human rights and freedoms, is beyond me.
For those with money, Dubai represents an opportunity to attract foreign wealth. But at what price?
Consider The Donald’s joint venture, Trump International Hotel & Tower, which stands at the center of Nakheel's Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, and is a showcase of breathtaking architecture and wealthy excess. Here is a man who has built a fortune on gambling, sex, alcohol and the appearance of what some claim, over-the-top exhibitionism. And he lends his name to this joint venture even though you cannot openly express your opinion about Dubai’s religion, rulers – or your loved one – without encountering severe repercussions should, heaven forbid, some religious nutcase become offended. It is beyond me how you can live in the modern world with 12th century repressive customs.

“One of Dubai’s most popular beach hotels has issued guests with an ‘etiquette guide’ after two Britons were convicted for having sex on the beach near the hotel.
It wasn’t sex even by Bill Clinton’s standards – it was reportedly a French-kiss while the woman was wearing a bikini.
“The etiquette guides, which suggest the hotel’s guests could be arrested for inappropriate public displays, are left on tables during the weekly brunch event at the Madinat Jumeirah hotel.”
“The guests should ‘employ discretion’ in expressing affection publicly, says the hotel, with ‘anything more than a peck on the cheek’ likely to result in police involvement.”

Culture clash over religion …
Once again, we find that modern human rights and freedoms are not easily available to those who practice the Islamic faith. Any yet, adherents of the faith demand that the United Nations be complicit in outlawing any negative mention of Islam.
More United Nations’ hypocrisy …
The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), a group of Islamic states that accounts for approximately one-third of the members of the U.N.’s misleadingly-named “Human Rights” Council is openly seeking rules regarding anyone involved in the defamation of the Islamic religion. A religion that is said, by its adherents to be the “religion of peace and tolerance, even though dissenters and reformers are often beheaded for openly defaming Allah or his religion.
The upcoming meeting, nicknamed, Durban II (2009) after the first World Conference Against Racism (2001) held in Durban, South Africa, is expected to be an open forum for anti-Semitic rhetoric and the condemnation of Israel for sponsoring “a new kind of apartheid – a crime against humanity and a form of genocide – for its practices in areas claimed by the Palestinian people.
I wonder if anyone has the cojones to stand up and point out that it is the Muslims that go crazy over cartoons and the pictures of flags on soccer balls – rioting and destroying anything within their reach. Or that Mullahs routinely sanction death for those who oppose their particular teachings of Islam while religiously absolving the murder of any infidel of a crime.
This is indeed becoming an increasingly Orwellian world where people see hatred, bigotry and racism lauded as peace and tolerance – and make excuses for those who lob missiles into Israel, targeting men, women and children with impunity. But scream bloody murder when a child is killed accidently during a military operation. For those weak-kneed liberals who decry such actions, have you considered that the soldiers who fight against the United States or Israel are not like our soldiers – they often go home at night rather than retire to a barracks compound. Thus they put their entire family at risk when they are cornered by the military. These are the brave soldiers that hide behind hospitals, women and children so that return fire creates a public relations victory – complete with dead civilians – each time one of these “mujahedeen” becomes an martyr.
A major test for President Barack Obama …
The United States has often boycotted participation in the United Nation’s Human Rights Council and its activities. Therefore, it remains to be seen if a President Obama will send high-ranking envoys to participate in what may be an anti-Israel lovefest among anti-Semitic haters. (Yes I know Arabs are Semitic people – but I refer only to the Jewish-hating strain of anti-Semitism.)
Is this the Biden test? Who knows? Since the conference is to occur in April, it might be that Israel will confront Iran over their nuclear ambitions before the inauguration further adding pressure on President Obama to take action: one way or another. Unfortunately, world events are such that Obama cannot vote “Present” and retain the respect of the world community. Should we, as Vice President Biden suggests, support a President Obama who appears to make the wrong choice? I say NO! No special favors or media gifts for someone who would turn from peace and freedom towards war and oppression.
What can YOU do?
Islamophobia will be a major consideration of the United Nations’ Durban II Conference. As they say, even the paranoid are sometimes correct.” In this instance, we are seeing members of the “human rights” council openly insist that the world take note of “Islamophobia” and prevent negative references to its religion of peace and tolerance. Demand the United State boycott Durban II and reveal the participants for the racists, bigots and anti-human rights liars that they really appear to be.
Accept the proposition that religious tolerance is a good thing – but when any religion becomes violently or militarily intolerant of the viewpoint of others, either the religion should be reformed or it should be quarantined by modern peace-seeking peoples. If that does not work, the religious crazies need to be eliminated from the equation by any means possible. This is a two-edged sword as there are crazies on both sides of any religious debate. It is only when they get violent should decisive action be taken.
