what is new loan shark. Now a days i heard lots of time the word "shark" with credit card. what dose it means?
============================================
A shark is symbolic of a dangerous predator who attacks ferociously. A loan shark is a person or an institution which grants loans to those who they know can not pay the money back and is stuck paying interest forever -- also those who charge interest rates that are so exhorbitant that it is near impossible to pay the loan off -- and, again, you are stuck paying on the loan forever. The goal of a loan shark is to develop a never-ending stream of high-yield interest payments without regard for the borrower or their financial condition. Most credit card issuers are loan sharks in the disguise of financial institutions.

After having this card for years, I was one day late (in disupte, I actually made the payment on time and their automated system delayed it) they jacked my rate up to 27%...
====================================
And the government speaks about consumer protections while doing the bidding of the credit card industry. They lobbied hard for bankruptcy legislation which made it more difficult to get a new start. They lobbied hard to allow banks to convert unsecured credit card debt into debt secured by your home. They insured that mortgage transactions carried credit card payoff provisions. And they continued to flood the market with "free and easy" credit knowing that they were rolling their debt into toxic derivatives and foisting them on to the public investors -- pension and retirement funds, mutual funds, etc. So Kirk, do you think they have any will to resolve your matter on favorable terms? Hang tough buddy and remember you can always file a statement that will appear in your credit report. Good luck. -- steve

If you are in need of a cash advance you can get a payday loan it is sometimes less than a cash advace from your credit card.

Melissa ... Great idea. It all depends on the time factor needed to pay back the advance. Thanks for responding. -- steve
