UPDATE: (08/13/08 ) -- Edwards neutralized; Kerry mentioned on Hannity & Colms...
Now that John Edwards has been embroiled in an allegeded cheating scandal <Scandal Details> and has been effectively stopped from participating in presidential politics, we were extremely surprised to hear Sean Hannity say in his opening ...
Hannity: "But why is it after four years that John Kerry spends more time talking about the SwiftBoats than any one else? Well could this be another hint that he is being considered as Obama's running mate?"
Hannity then introduces his guest, former Republican Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich.
Gingrich: "I just watched an opening where you suggested that the second most liberal member of the Senate, who lost the presidency in 2004, might be considerd by the most liberal member of the Senate?
Hannity: "That is correct."
Gingrich: "As his vice presidential running mate"
Hannity: "And there's something wrong with that?"
Gingrich: "Oh ... listen ... in terms of pure narrow calculations for Republicans, ah ... we couldn't be that lucky. I can't imagine anything less helpful to Senator Obama than to have Senator Kerry out today attacking this new book [Obama Nation by Jerome R. Corsi, Phd.]; making sure that all of us are aware of it and reminding all of us that the last time this guy wrote a book it helped defeat Senator Kerry. I just think that this is one of those moments when Senator Kerry; if he'd gone windsurfing would have been a more helpful thing for Senator Obama."
Is it really that far-fetched considering the number of votes that Kerry received in 2004? We are just literally days from learning who the Vice Presidential nominee will be.
UPDATE: 01/16/08 -- Edwards ascendant?
There are those pundits who claim that because Edwards is splitting the vote between Clinton and Obama, that he is in the perfect position to assume the mantle of the Vice-Presidency. His message of a "Two Americas" and the need to change the system to accomodate the disenfranshised poor would resonate with Obama's "Change" theme and move the overall Obama campaign further along the "Change" path. Unfortunately, Edwards seems to a large segment of potential voters, to be an empty suit with campaign demons involving his past activities as an ambulance-chasing lawyer bleeding the medical system for personal profit. -- The game continues...
For your consideration...
Just asking about the unthinkable. What if Barack Obama was to co-opt the entire Democrat Party by privately claiming that he would select John Kerry as his running mate?
As reported by the AFP...
2004 hopeful Kerry backs Obama for White House
"The moment was nigh for a far-reaching transformation of the nation, Kerry told a pumped-up Obama rally in South Carolina,'"and I believe that this moment is the moment that we should make Barack Obama president of the United States.'"
"The Massachusetts senator, who lost the 2004 election to President George W. Bush, said he 'dared to hope' then that a fractured country might be reunited in Bush's second term."
"Kerry still carries some sway among Democratic donors, fundraisers and activists who could assist Obama in his nail-biting contest against the former first lady for the Democratic nomination this time round."
"Kerry's endorsement might also influence other members of the Democratic establishment who have so far stayed neutral between Obama and Clinton."
John Kerry is not "Al Gore" with a bright political and financial future ahead -- and he does have the reputation of getting in bed with whoever has the money.
What can YOU do?
Do not vote for any candidate or current politician who is willing to subvert the safety, security, sovereignty and economic strength of the United States or limit an individual's right of self-defense for their personal philosophy, power, prestige or profits.
