Once again the "open borders" crowd, with the blessing of the McCain/Kennedy/Bush SHAMnesty legislators, are trying to sneak their amnesty legislation into an almost "veto proof" department of defense authorization bill.
Our only chance to defeat this legislation is to keep the amendment from being attached to the defense bill.
The DREAM Act, an acronym for "The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act" provides a path towards legalization and citizenship for young undocumented student who were brought to the United States many years ago and want to obtain higher education ... and who will serve as "anchor students" for allowing their extended family to receive the same treatment.
And who are the culprits trying to circumvent the will of the great majority of the citizens of the United States...

Bug don't take my word for it, here is the write-up from the illegal immigrant activists --
From the League of United Latin American Citizens...
Senate Expected to Vote on the DREAM Act. Immediate Action Must be Taken! LULAC Calls on Bipartisan Support to Make This DREAM a Reality ! The Senate has introduced the DREAM Act as an amendment to H.R. 1585, the Department of Defense Authorization bill. Senators Richard Durbin (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Richard Lugar (R-IN) announced last week that S. 774, a bill that was originally introduced back in March, would be added as a provision to the DOD Authorization bill. The provisions of the DREAM Amendment are expected to be identical to S.774. IMMEDIATE ACTION IS NEEDED If passed, the amendment would provide a six year path to permanent residency and an eventual citizenship for millions of undocumented children and students if they graduate from high school and continue on to college or the military. The Amendment needs 60 votes to be adopted and its passage would be a monumental leap forward to finally passing the DREAM Act, but this amendment must be adopted first. LULAC strongly urges an immediate passage. Each year 65,000 promising high school students are denied access to higher education. Without legal status, their doors are immediately closed, despite having lived the majority of their life in the United States, learned English, volunteered in their communities, and successfully graduated from high school. The DREAM Act can help these displaced students - who are without documentation - contribute to the national economy and continue their professional careers through higher education. ACT NOW ! Urge Your Senators to Move this Legislation Forward. Pass Amendment #2237 in the DOD Authorization Bill. It’s not just a DREAM anymore. It is a reality. Express your support now. |
Our only chance to defeat this legislation is to keep the amendment from being attached to the defense bill.
What can YOU do?
Recognize that this is another attempt at reinvigorating the SHAMnesty legislation to provide "anchor children" who may serve as the gateway to bringing their relatives into the United States.
Recognize that this bill is not likely to be vetoed by a President who openly supports "open borders" and full recognition of all illegal aliens currently residing in the United States.
You need to write, fax, phone and e-mail your elected officials once again to let them know that "back-dooring" the amnesty issue without any social or financial impact is unacceptable.
You need to deny support for any politician or candidate the supports giving your hard-earned money to illegal aliens. Likewise to any person who attempts to subvert the safety, security and sovereignty of the United States and its healthcare, education, justice, and retirement infrastructure.
VOTE AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT -- IT DOES IN THIS COMING ELECTION.
