Update: 04-27-09 - Jim Cramer, once again, appeared on the Celebrity Apprentice as one of "The Donald's" eyes and ears. Two things are readily apparent. One, this is not the free-speaking, bombastic Jim Cramer who is a financial powerhouse in his own right. And two, Cramer appears unduly deferential (some my say sycophantic) towards Trump. He adds little or nothing to the show with his appearances or commentary. I would much rather have George Ross perform the function as his comments are cogent and well thought out. But he is much better than Donald Trump, Jr. whose appearance is somewhat forced ... some what like Ivanka who seems afraid to speak up. Coiffed and conflicted, in my opinion. All-in-all, Cramer is a DUD!
Update: 03/20/08 - Jim Cramer, once again appeared on the Celebrity Apprentice, this time as one who was to interview the remaining four contestants and make recommendations on which two Trump will fire to get to the final show's two combatants. The Cramer shots were disappointing. His recommendation to fire Piers Morgan due to his apparently agressive nature was totally ignored by Trump. Country star, Trace Adkins, claimed Cramer was too intense for him and that he didn't really get Cramer. After seeing Cramer interviewed over his buddy Eliot Spitzer's affair, I have come to the conclusion that Cramer is somewhat a fish out of water when discussing anything other than the markets on camera. Not exactly what I had expected. I would have loved to see Cramer go up against Piers Morgan or Gene Simmons. All-in-all, he added nothing to the show so far. A completely forgettable zero.
Update: 01/17/08 - As promised, Jim Cramer appeared on the Celebrity Apprentice as one of Trump's advisors. He was, to be charitable, unassuming and, for Cramer, very quiet while being openly deferential to Trump. His performance was about equal to that of Donald Trump, Junior. No big deal. Perhaps he should have taken some direction from his nephew, Cliff Mason who seems to be the guiding light behind the Cramer television venture. All-in-all, no big deal. Disappointing to say the least.
However the episode is worth watching as Gene Simmons (of Kiss) openly ignores what the client is telling him and then openly defies Trump in the boardroom. A true Gene "It's Good to be the King" Simmons moment.
Update (1): According to the rumor-mill, Jim Cramer will not be joining the celebrity version of the Apprentice as a contestant. Jim Cramer (the one will little hair) will join Trump's beautiful daughter, Ivanka (the one with the gorgeous hair) and her father, The Donald (the one with the foward-combed mullet) in the boardroom as a judge. Pity as Cramer could easily and explosively crush whatever competition he faced.
According to the New York Post's famed Page Six gossip column, Donald Trump is re-tuning his semi-reality show, "The Apprentice," into the "Celebrity Apprentice."
Trump claims that he is talking with representatives of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and is planning to call upon Lindsey Lohan.
What is remarkable is that Trump is claiming to have signed "an eye-popping list of A-listers, B-listers and has-beens to be subjected to his notorious "You're Fired" treatment."
"They include: Jim Cramer, Carmen Electra, Joan Rivers, Naomi Judd, George Foreman, original "Apprentice" villain Amorosa, Kimora Lee Simmons, Pete Rose, Dana Patrick, Tony Hawk and Jeff Gordon. "
"In the celebrity version of "The Apprentice," the stars will raise money for various charities during the competition in which they vie to work for Trump."
The question is why Jim Cramer, noted millionaire stock analyst and the man that might be most responsible for highlighting the financial conditions leading to the recent Federal Reserve rate cut. would want to humiliate himself on-air. But considering Cramer's often crazy behavior on his own show, it is a real possibility.
As for some of the lesser lights and racers, and I will assume Trump is referring to Danica Patrick the racer since Jeff Gordon is already mentioned, this is a "branding opportunity" to reach a wider audience.
I am personally hoping that Cramer does make an appearance as he will eat all of the other contestants alive. He is street-smart, immune to pressure, and is willing to think creatively. Absolutely outrageous -- I can't wait.
Now it remains up to Trump to deliver.

Marvel at the shameless promotional efforts of "The Donald" who, in spite of his personality and hair, manages to convert hype and excitement into cash.
